Knows a lot, but does absolutely nothing with her accrued knowledge. All we did in Criminal Justice was watch movies, discuss her view on politics, talk about her personal life, and face extreme condescension. She is rude, lazy, and out of her depths with a teaching job. Although her personal life (of debatable truth) is interesting, and the food on the last day is incredible, her electives are not worth taking, unless you're a masochist.
Don't listen to what people say, as long as you put the effort in you will do well. Also she isn't extremely nice! And very smart
Do not worry if you are doing poorly (B+ or lower) in this class, I took Valentin's Con Law class around 5 years ago and even though I didn't do exceedingly well I am still going to an Ivy League School. She is mean, should dress age appropriately, and goes off on tangents about herself, however, do not fret when you get a bad grade, there is a reason she went to Princeton and is a teacher instead of an actual lawyer.
Valentin is the sweetest, kindest, and caring teacher in the school. She has an extreme passion for history and she is such an authentic teacher. I wish I had a teacher like her every year. I am not looking forward to the end of this year because that means no more Ms. Valentin :(
If you would actually pay attention and study the material she gives, you would do well. Wake up. She grades fairly, so don't blame her for your crappy grades.
I really like Ms. Valentin! Her tests were easy all year and we had the best current events discussions! She is really smart, but she is LIBERAL as it gets. All of her faulty facts show that she only watches CNN. It's hard to control myself from flipping, but hey it's scarsdale, what should i expect. Last year's history was still awesome despite this. Ms. Valentin is da bomb
If you take her criminal justice class she is AWESOME. she explains everything very clearly and her personal life stories are so interesting. if you pay attention in her class, her tests aren't hard. we have a lot of discussions and you will learn so much about the criminal justice system!
The worst teacher I have ever had! We handed in an outline for an essay two months ago and some people still have not received them back. Also, she lied multiple times saying, "You will get the outlines back tomorrow." The essay is due next week!!
She picks favorites and gives a lot of hard homework!
Very mean and harsh. Stay AWAY.
I do not like complaining, but she is one the worst teachers that I have ever had. She makes our lives impossible, doesn't teach the material and just tells you to read the textbook if you disagree with her. She is so lazy and isn't fair
Spends more time talking about off-topic discussions during class to the point where we run out of time and have to rush through notes. Skips over topics she doesn't like. Takes way too long to grade things (2 months for a research paper).
She definitely knows her stuff no doubt, however she does not present it in a way that is not captivating whatsoever, nor easy to follow. Most teachers in the school want you to do well, but with her it is difficult to feel that way as she dislikes most of her students and the ones she likes she puts on pedestals for everyone else to hate. She is very full of herself and is also too sensitive; the smallest move puts you on her bad side. Just don't talk during class and study hard. Only advice.
She is the definition of a mean teacher. It is impossible to sympathize with her as if you try to make small talk as you can with a nice teacher she will just stare at you judgingly. If you talk in class she will flip out, her tests are pretty hard, and her projects are impossible. Terrible teacher, wish I had a better one and I would have enjoyed history.
I find this class is a huge waste of time, very few things are taught. She spends most of the class talking about her life or totally unrelated topics, so we learn virtually nothing. Despite minimal teaching on her part, we are still expected to pass her impossible tests (which most of us don't) by learning the information on our own. she grades harshly. There is nothing I like about this teacher except that she is usually late to class which would be a bad thing if she actually TAUGHT US.
Literally the most disorganized teacher I've ever had. Assigns textbook summaries for homework, collects them, and doesn't give them back until after the test. Posts homework for monday at 9pm on a sunday. Takes FOREVER to grade. Screws around talking about herself during class and then doesn't cover what we need to know for the test. Why is she even a teacher? Worst teacher I've ever had, and I have an A in her class, for reference.
Ouch. You don't want to be in this class unless you're of Puerto Rican origin.
extremely helpful and knows her material. awesome teacher
she is really nice and teaches the class well. however, she does send emails to students too late at night and can't get assignments back on time. i am learning and she grades fairly, just too slowly.
Probably the worst teacher i've had.. and this is my second year with senora Kaitz. She is ignorant, self-centered, intimidating, mean. She always gives you that I'm disappointed with you but is never straightforward. Watch out for those 9:00 emails of homework that you didnt have
Awful does not begin to describe her. If I had to find one person less qualified for teaching history, I do not think I would be able to. Simply is ignorant on all the material she is suppossed to teach. PICKS FAVORITES.
She probably got fired from her previous job. During a lesson, she likes to keep the textbook right in front of her and basically read from it, proving that she does not know anything. She is immature and acts like she is twelve, despite the fact that she is reaching forty.
She gets better as the year goes on. GET ON HER GOOD SIDE. Grades essays on test easy.
If you get on her good side, then you can do almost anything you want in her class.
i am not a fan of her. She's boring and and she's actually the worst teacher I have ever had. She goes off on random tangents about her life. We get it, you went to prineton. get over yourself.
She's ok. U need to get on her good side. If u mess one thing up she doesnt rly like u. She can b rly rly rly mean though.
I really enjoyed Ms. Valentin's class! Despite the occasional tangent, she engaged the class in learning history. You'd be surprised how few teachers do that effectively.
When she says she'll e-mail you something, it never happens, if she says that she'll give the test/quiz back tommorrow, it really means next year. Never stops talking about her personal life.
She is a very easy teacher, which is ok because a "break" class is sometimes needed, but the thing is, in class she lacks knowledge about the topics that we cover.
Ms. V is awesome. Very good teacher, shares lots of stories. Great political discussions. A little too much work sometimes. Grest woman, fun to talk to. A little hard, not too much
shes very nice & very lenient on grading but she often goes off on tangents. once 1 of her tangents took 45 min of teh clas. wich was cool but they dont help us do well on thetests
Knows a lot about history and tells cool stories! Sometimes she is a bit too opinionated in politics, and only sees her point of view, but in all, she's a great teacher.
Boring. In class she only talks about herself and how she is Puerto Rican. She never gives projects or essays back until the last minute (literally). Is lenient on grading.
SHe is very nice but she makes all these stoires up. Her class is based around her life. SHe is smart but not very compromising.
Awesome class. So sweet. One of the only idealistic adults I know. Gives me hope that I won't become jaded with age.
I got below 50 on my first test and now she's locked against me... doesn't care about the kids who do badly
Awesome lady, horrific teacher (makes things up), very personable and considerate, and yes we get the point Ms V... YOU WENT TO PRINCETON
Best teacher ever! I learned so much from her! Although, she doesn't get close with her students
Ms. Your my hero, Best history teacher in the school
Caring, intelligent, and a great teacher. She's a really good singer, too.
I absolutely love ms. v... but please, we got that you went to princeton the first 750 times you told us. other than that... mad cool lady
