I had her last year and I'll be honest - it was my least favorite class I ever took in middle school. Actually, maybe tied with Mr. Nichols... For starters, she obviously plays favorites. There are a few students she will always call on, and nobody else. I raise my hand almost every day, and she ignores me. Next, she is a REALLy harsh grader, If she doesn't agree with something you write, she will take points off. I went from an A english student to a B-. No more room, so this ends my rant :(
She is definitely an interesting person. I had her last year, and it is very important to become a favorite. Her grammar lessons were very helpful, but she choses 3 or 4 people to call on for the whole year (for grammar lessons). I was not one of those people. I raised my hand for almost every grammar lesson, but she barely ever called on me. For other things, she calls on a larger variety of people (but she has a go to). She is extremely opinionated and disagreeing with her is not an option.
She made us write 2 essays and its the 2nd week of school. Also, she gives is a one night notice for the essays.....like what??????
Today is Wednesday and she informed 2 classes that we will have an exam on friday. 2 classes were not even informed. In addition, we have not gone over the book in class.
Mrs. Ross knows what she is talking about, but is not entirely respectful towards all of her students. Her conversations are insightful and she motivates us to participate. She is a harsh grader and will only accept most of the writing if it agrees with her opinion. She and I have a great relationship, which is important in having a successful year.
If you disagree with her, she will mark your paper incorrect. She assigns about 10 books on the holicaust and her 'central questions' are not provocative. She wants us to be insightful, but it has to be something she agrees with. While she taught us a lot of grammar, if you ask a question she often cannot answer it. She says she will search it up and she never does. She always says to a student in my class, "Please, ask me a question I can answer."
I honestly do not know why so many people hate Mrs.Ross. She is very sweet and inspires great conversation about the books we read. Also, the grammar books you make in her class will benefit you in the future. We have a great relationship, but you have to do well in her class.
Well she's fine , don't know what all the rage letters are here for. Pretty good as my experience with teachers go. If you Dont do well she'll fry you so my advice is DO WELL. I love how this is anonymous.
Terrible teacher. It is difficult to give the correct amount of stars homework because it is not about the quantity of homework, but the timing, the clarity of the instructions, putting the assignments on Schoolwires, etc. Terrible at all this! Also, she refuses to stay after school to give extra help to students even when a student or parent asks. She lies to Mr. Divino when called out on this and about not posting assignments. Shows resentful attitude towards students and other teachers.
II LOVEE MSS ROSSS SOO MUCHH SHEE ISS THEE BESTT TEACHERR EVERR MWAHH!!!
she is a very smart teacher but she is wayy to hard to understand! I used to get good grades in English and now I am failing. I really do believe that she will help me for my SATS!
Ms ross taught us very useful things for high school and later, but the timing of her homework and essays are ridiculous. We had too much work near the end of the year but she piled on a huge assignment with one week to go along with the final project. ALso, the homework was almost never posted on her eboard...
hated her class so much...but i know itll eventually help so...its still so annoying some of the things we did
i love her! if you pay attention in class and do the homework, and study for tests you will do great. if you do these things, then good luck. in the beginning of the year she was scary but when you ge
she is not a bad teacher when it comes to grammar but sometimes tries to take the ss shine away from mrs. wixted but her grammar lessons really help!
She teaches a lot of randolm stuff. BUT HER GRAMMAR NOTEBOOK MADE ME GET A PERFECT SCORE ON MY SATs
I scored an 800 on the writing section of the SAT because of her. Testtakers and private tutoring are nothing in comparison to the benefits of being in this woman's class.
Good teacher, but harsh. She loves loves loves vocab and grammer! She can definetly be mean, but who doesn't think most teachers are that way?
She's a great teacher if you pay attention in her class. She says some of the funniest things I've ever heard. If you don't like to pay attention, then good luck. The only way to pass her class is to pay attention or participate in a way that's advantageous to the whole class. Also, study up on your grammar, she LOVES IT!!
SO.. shes a hard teacher.. Well get used to it. Ya, she is a little harsh but she is a good teacher. Look how much we learn, i mean grammer that will use for the rest of out lives. I too was very unhappy when i got a my first b+ ever because of her class (and the 75 i just got on a test) but she is a good teacher. I used to be one of her favorites too.... but not anymore...
shes so mean.. im so afraid to talkm and answer ?s cause like every time i talk she rolls her eyes and looks at me and is like OMG... all she does is grammer and has the HARDEST test.. i mean once ur her favorite shes okay like if u stay after shes so much nicer but im still afraid of her... UMM IF U HATE KIDS PLEASE DONT TEACH
SO MEAN!!!!! I hate her eyes when she asks for an answer and you get it wrong so I never answer questions....She plays favorites and she picks on other kids....however, she does teach a lot
no one likes her, shes mean, shes evil but she is a good teacher.. horrible person- strict teacher
Ms. Ross may know a lot of grammar, but she is mean and does not like kids. I'm afraid to talk in her class.
"Dont give me thos eyes" If you get writing error wrong you get the eyes
She a good teacher but somethimes annoys me. All in all she good.
If you pay attention during class and learn all of your grammar in her class!! Trust me, listen to her every word and learn in her class and it'll help in the long run BIG TIME!!
MRS.ROSS IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!! SHE TEACHES YOU SO MUCH AND YOU GROW TO LOOK FORWARD TO COMEING TO HER CLASS EVERYDAY!!!
Well, I think that Mrs. Ross was a very difficult teacher and not always in the "perkiest" moods. However, she taught me a lot of grammar that I will use throughout my life...
MRS. ROSS IS THE COOLEST AND BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD. SHE'LL TEACH U MORE THEN ANY OTHER ENGLISH TEACHER. PLUS,IF U DO UR H.W AND DON'T TALK IN CLASS SHE LIKE U.. AND ULL DO WELL
Mrs. Ross is a great teacher and i learned a lot of grammar from her!
Ms. Ross taught me so much. She is a great teacher who makes class exciting and has taught me tons of great information for the future.
Ms. Ross is an amazing teacher. I've learned so much from her and she teaches in a really fun way.
all i can say is GET ON HER GOOD SIDE and u have to raise ur hand a lot in her class. she will like you if you are smart and listen to her. she is sometimes kinda strange..but nice
Ms. Ross' class are just extremely really insanely difficult, but its all worth it beause you learn the tons of grammar
wow....i hated her so much...she always picked on me and moved me....and would never have a reason for giving me bad grades on essays
Mrs. Ross is a great teacher, but she is very hard!!!!!!! Beware of her bad days!!!!!!
all i have 2 say is anne frank & melba beals 4ever. night is the best time 2 party & say farewell 2 manzanar 'cause u'll never want 2 c that book again. xoxo
I happen to like Mrs.Ross, I have her this year. Still, I wince when I hear the word "advantageous" lol
Really great teacher!!! Mrs. Wixted and mrs. ross are the only people that truly get in to their job as a teacher!! It makes the classroom really exciting
Mrs. Ross is cool, but can be tough and hard at sometimes.
AMAZING!! i love her she loves me i have learned so much useful grammar it is so advantageous to have her as a teacher haha
