Had him for APES and he is definitely better than Ms. Wheeler but his class ain't easy. Tests are 80% of your grade and they are hard. He gives no hw tho which is awesome. He knows a lot about the environment. He is kinda strict on phones, so don't try using them during class unless he lets you. Can't really study for the tests besides his review powerpoints or reading the book(but who does that). I would recommend taking his class as a senior or if you don't care about getting a B.
He is my best teach ever. Even though his tests are hard, he is such a nice teacher. He is very compassionate and cares the students very well. I like his class. It's fun class
Saw no one has rated him for years so I will. Just finished the first semester with an A. Fantastic class very similar to what I hope college classes are like. Lots of interesting videos and visuals, one hour of lectures a week max but usually not even. Lots of labs and a few projects but a pretty light workload for an AP. However, 80% of your grade is tests so you better pay attention to not only the lectures, but also the videos and anything he mentions more than once. (To be continued)
Dr. E shares his love for the subject clearly, and is very knowledgeable in the subject. He is a very relaxed teacher, but instills intellectual curiosity within the student.
Dr. E's class really helped me out. It's the closest thing to a college class you'll have at LCHS. I recommend APES to anyone who needs a science class.
Dr. E is impassioned about his teaching and truly cares about his students. These two qualities are so beneficial to students that it becomes easy to overlook some of the faults he may have. He is genuinely concerned about student progress. One of the best teachers I had at LHCS (I had him for both Physics and APES) and an all-around great guy.
the most influential teacher that I had at LCHS. class structure may be difficult to grasp at first, but its great practice for what students will encounter in college (everything is online, 80% tests). actually made me enjoy science junior and senior year.
Pretty easy if you listen to him in class and do your work. The thing is, he doesn't collect work too often (or extends due dates till the end of the year) and doesn't grade very often. Still, he's an awesome guy, he's freaking hilarious, and he knows science better than anyone I've ever met. He genuinely cares about students and will do what he can to help them succeed, as long as the student also makes an effort. Lots of fun, I'm going to miss him and his classes a lot.
super disorganized and hasnt taught me anything. its a shame he has so much education and all he does is play a movie to teach.
his classes are a challenge, i got an A in hr. physics and apes but there is a good amount of studying involved because tests are 80% of your grade. dr. e doesnt assign a lot of homework, but his in-class quizzes are killers if you dont read. hes a very good teacher, his lectures make the more complicated concepts of science very clear.
Dr. E's class is great. you can talk to him about anything, and he knows tons about science. another good thing is that he is very lenient on late work. study hard for the tests, do the homework and labs and you'll be fine in his class.
APES with Dr. E is a lot of fun. I really believe that he has the best interests of his students in mind and offers a great class that presents science at a level that most people can understand.
Dr. E is absolutely brilliant, and like all brilliant people, he is positively INSANE. But I love it and he works it to his advantage. He is definitely one of the hardest working teachers on campus, and probably knows more about his given subject matter than any of the other teachers.
I have this teacher for two classes this year, and while I'm doing quite poorly in one, I can say he is one of the best science teachers in the school. His classes are a bit difficult, but you learn a lot. Dr. E does a great job at throwing in humor into his lectures, which are never boring, and keeping the pacing of the class perfect. His classes aren't ever boring, even on block days. I would highly recommend taking APES as an alternative to other AP classes, like Chem and Bio.
pretty good teacher. in his classes, just study for the tests which are 80% of everythign!!
this year i have Dr. E for honors physics and APES. hes a really good teacher, and ive learned a good amount so far. the only problem is, tests count for 80% of your grade in his class. good thing he curves them and has test corrections.
One of the nicest people I have ever known. Enjoyed APES a lot.
My favorite teacher ever, I'll miss him when I graduate!
Nice teacher, knows his stuff. I bought fishes and frogs for his tank..they died, remaining fishes ate frogs. DONT BE LATE TO CLASS. LOL! Kickback teacher
Truely one of my favorite teachers. Physics is awesome if you learn it through this guy. Dr. E is truely the best teacher in the science category.
dude he is the best all we do is watch movies and no hw
he's awesome, he teaches us the material (unlike so many other teachers) and we dont have any homework and the tests are easy but we have fun.......
How can u say his class is boring. DRE is the most intersting teacher that i have ever had. I would not wake up for school if i didnt have him for 1st period.
i like Dr. E. I dont have him, but i am doing this to boost his score. Actually i DO have him for SSR, so i guess thaz chill
Dr. E is awesome! Very clear explanations, and easy tests make his class the best
Very knowledgeable about subject, clear explanations
