Listen to his lectures and take good notes (don't just copy what he has, really try to understand the material). Great guy and you can always count on having a good laugh in his class.

Best teacher ever. he knows how to teach while being funny. He jokes around, roasts students, but still teaches the material needed to get an A on the exams. Everybody loves him. Tells funny stories, but still relates them to the lecture. My favorite teacher of all time. If you get him, you are lucky.

Class of 2020
Beneath a a shell of humor, is a teacher who is always trying to help his students get the best grade possible, even sacrificing his break time to help his students. Always very funny but to the point, if you are lucky enough to get put in Mr. Riese's class, then you are in for a whirlwind of bowel jokes. #Find-the-Cure #Diabetes-Type-1 #Keep-things-moving #Lots-of-Fiber

2020
The first time I met Mr. Riese (or rather the first time he made fun of me), I was scared of him, and so was everyone else. He seemed so intimidating at first. My seatmate was so scared of him, when Mr. Riese asked him his name, he whispered "I don't know" really quietly.
We are now about halfway into the 1st semester, and he is by far my favorite teacher. Class is an absolute blast with him. A quick tip, study a lot for exams (Honors). Good man. #SponchNation #KeepThingsMoving #Lard

As a person, one of the best teachers I have ever seen. As a teacher, he's all right, but not nearly as in depth as Mr. Wong for Bio Honors.
He makes the class enjoyable and genuinely hilarious. He is a very likable person.
One day, the principal was walking by and he ACTUALLY asked for ice cream. 20 minutes later, we all were eating ice cream inside the class! Seriously! Ask anyone in 7th period Bio Honors 2015-2016!
If you're taking the SAT Bio, you're better off with Mr. W but R is goo !

All you have to do for homework is submit the same on every time. He honestly doesn't give a hoot about it. The tests are straight from the bio textbook and the first question is always the first sentence of that chapter. Makes jokes like a beast and is the skinniest guy I know that has diabetes.

Funniest teacher i've met so far. I honestly laugh so much in his class i can't take him seriously when he teaches because he says a joke like every 5 min. You can't hate him because he is so funny and if you get picked on, don't take it personal it's just for giggles. He's probably the most chill teacher i know.

Yep, he was ridiculously funny! But the material was about as clear as mud. He's not a teacher, he's an in-class comedian. Since most people don't go to his class to learn, they don't have a problem. If you are there because you want to learn, and not just the surface stuff, seriously consider asking for another teacher. I didn't learn anything in this class. He hates questions about the material. How can you be a TEACHER and hate QUESTIONS? However, I HAVE heard that he's improved slightly recently.
