Mr. Rowe is a super dope teacher. I had him Junior year for APUSH and he really whipped me into shape as a student. His tests and DBQ's are hard and if you don't study, don't expect a good grade. He thoroughly prepared me for the AP Test and (although I was occassionally afraid of him) made me enjoy his class. Shouts to Rowe for being the realist. Btw his real name is Gerald, mark is his middle name.
In my experience with mr Rowe over the years I found him to be a truly dedicated and passionate educator. His eclectic approach to reaching his students both academically and personally is commendable. There should be more like him. Backgammon.
I had Mr. Rowe both Freshman and Senior years of high school some time ago... I have a undergrad degree from NYU and a master's from The London School of Economics, yet I still think of Mr. Rowe as one of my best teachers. He was a hard grader, but entertaining and a fantastic educator - his classes definitely helped prepare me for college. To those kids that think he is too hard - coddling won't help you, but being challenged will.
Mr. Mark Rowe is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had, and that really is saying something. His methods are unconventional at best but he is like the House. MD of teaching. I have despised history for the 8 years of comprehensive public school prior to his class however upon meeting him I can honestly say no teacher has TAUGHT me more in a year that he can teach me in a class. He is a quite delightful individual and he holds a spot up there for me. :)
Mr.Rowe is easily the best teacher I have ever had. Going to his class would get me so excited because I knew that as soon as I set foot in class he would delve straight into his crazy stories and funny voices. He made sure that along with a detailed PowerPoint to put on a show for us everyday wether it was a thrilling tale or an apple flying across the room to demonstrate gravity. With down side is that he's not very helpful but if you follow along in his class then you won't need the help.
Mr. Rowe is the best teacher ever! I had him last year as a teacher and I loved him as a teacher. He makes class fun and interesting. Don't fall asleep in his class however. He is strict, and his tests are hard but its all for the best. If I didn't have him as a teacher I would be so bad in History right now.
Had him for my Freshman history class this year, and I have to say he's by far the best teacher I've ever had. He makes lessons interesting and makes you WANT to learn. He makes his lessons fun by role playing, bringing in props and telling funny stories, you'll never not want to pay attention. His tests are hard if you don't study, so remember to study and you'll be fine. He's a wonderful teacher, and I strongly admire him. You'll be more than lucky to have him as a teacher!
Amazing human being. Truly passionate about his work, and a great inspiration to his students. Rowe never fails to entertain. Watch out for flying objects and water guns. His lessons are great.
Mark Rowe is simply one of the greatest men to walk the face of the earth. Proceeded only by Leonardo Da Vinci and Napoleon Bonaparte, who was very Rowesque in every sense of the word. It isn't only that he is able to keep students engaged in class, but makes us yearn for knowledge. I am in his freshman honors class and I can already tell, I will surely succeed in further classes in high school because I have been prepared by the best of the bet. He instills leadership and is a BRILLIANT MAN.
A great teacher, so energetic never fails to get your attention and keeps school fun
Mr. Rowe is one of my favorite teachers in the high school! When we take notes, he always makes them entertaining by role playing, telling us wonderful stories, and by even telling us jokes! Since I was in Honors, Mr. Rowe made this class hard. He gave us a lot of essays, and we had to self-study. Plus, he can be scary. If you didn't staple your papers, he wouldn't accept your essays, and if he sees a phone...Beware.
"Guide the future by the past for long ago the mold was cast." Mr. Rowe quoted the Rush song Bastille Day on my 1st day of 9th grade in 1996 & I still remember! Mr. Rowe is an incredible teacher who challenges and pushes his students to their limit. He is tough & demanding, but he is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had whether in high school, college or law school. Amazing teacher for both World History & AP Euro. His Cortez lesson was like a 1 man show. "Oh Captain My Captain."
I had mr Rowe my senior year for ap euro. He is the reason I'm in college pursuing a career of a history teacher. He is challenging and treats students like adults. If you are serious about your school work - you will love his course. If you are looking for an easy credit - you will hate him.
I had Rowe for freshman year and he was/is one of my favorite teachers at Lawrence High. His class may be considered difficult for a regular class, but if you pay attention he will make sure that you understand the material. At first he is very intimidating but he is extremely funny. He interests you in the lesson and makes you want to learn the material.
Mr Rowe was a great teacher, and anyone who has him is very lucky. He makes lessons very lively and enjoyable, and it really helps you remember. His class was not easy, but it shows how someone can succeed with hard work. His presence at first is very intimidating, but everyone gets used to it, and overall, he's a very great teacher
Greatest teacher in the world. He's very funny, very intelligent, and just overall completely geared for teaching. Very inspirational, I'm considering teaching History just because of him and Mr. Joe Casalino. His class is tougher than other classes, especially if he's teaching you as a Freshman, bu
This is one of the greatest men who has ever lived. He has changed my outlook on school, history, and life. His course is incredibly difficult, but Rowe will get you there if you pay attention and want to succeed.
Mr. Rowe is such an unbelieveable teacher, and not in a good way. He barely helps anyone. He is a huge and intimidating teacher. He gives challenging essays and tests, and absolutely no homework. Unfortunately, this means that if you do bad on anything, you do bad in the class. He has to change.
he is soo energetic and keeps the class awake. it can be tough but he makes it fun
He is the most charismatic teacher I have ever had, although in truth, his methods of teaching are outdated and unvaried. Well, maybe that is a good thing. He was clearky not up on the latest edu lingo, but I remember probably 50% of what he taught...10 years later.
Many years since taking his class, I still remember his enthusiasm and multi-day lectures. He's passionate, knowledgeable and outstanding.
Mr. Rowe can teach a tough course, but he does an outstanding job doing it. He likes to keep learning active and assures that you will enjoy his class.
He's very passionate about teaching and loves what he does. He always captured my attention during his lessons. Even on my worst days, when I was exhausted, I couldn't help but perk up when he walked into class. I learned how to work hard in school and to always try my best! Love him!
If you never had Mr. Rowe before leaving LHS, then you missed out on one of the greatest teachers. Mr. Rowe will not be easy, but if you put in the effort, you will be rewarded with a greater understanding of your place in history. "Guide the future by the past for long ago the mold was cast."
Amazing, epic, worthy of your total attention every day. You won't be bored and it's too loud to fall asleep.
Finally a teacher who is passionate about the subject they teach and cares about the education of the students. Is willing to help students adjust to high school from "kickball land." Exciting, keeps the attention of the students.
He throws apples at walls to make applesauce, chucks eggs at the student teacher, and tries to throw a kid out the window. BEST CLASS EVER!!!!!!!
GREAT... Very exciting class. Will always keep you attentive. Whether it's by slaming desks, tossing an egg up and down, or acting out past events. he has an incredible Hernand Cortez lesson and a awesome paper flicking trick.
Mr. Rowe is the greatest teacher EVER! Need I say more.
He taught me to closely examine all Iron Maiden songs for historical inaccuracies, a lesson I practice to this day. ROCK!
To anyone who thinks Rowe is tough, then you're a slacker. Rowe tries to give you the best lessons possible and normally succeeds. Also, he's a devout Democrat.
Mr Rowe is an amazing history teacher. He is so passionate about what he teaches...and he teaches them in such a way that you won't foreget.
Mr. Rowe believes in discipline in the classroom, without it you can not learn. So quit whinning and just sit back and enjoy his awesome lessons.
Mr. Rowe was an awesome teacher. I had some trouble with his essays but his lessons are the most fun to watch and be a part of in the entire school.
Mr. Rowe's a great teacher, he teaches some of the coolest lessons, such as the infamous Cortez lesson. Because of Rowe, ur essay writing ability improves, alot
Aww Mr. Rowe was kinda intimidating, but I learned so much from him. I wish all my teachers were that funny. You'll remember his lessons FOREVER!
He's tough, but you learn a lot from his class. And he's rather..unconventional. Just beware, he grades tough.
My inspiration to become a hist. teacher. Some people dont get him but he is very supportive and knows how to teach kids and make history fun. I will never forge
When I grow up I want to be the cool, young teacher at school! Give us all a break and just teach.
very talented person, he captured my attention everyday but he tried to influence students to believe his political viewpoints not let them develop their own.
He's cool, some people don't like him though because they say he's "mean". Hes just trying to liven up the class and make it more fun, hes not mean.
Best teacher i'v had by far, he inspired me to become a different and better person, i will always remember mr rowe's teaching, ALWAYS in control of the class!
best teacher I ever had for history. I actually learned something even though he gave me a B for an 89 for my overall grade and i deserved an A
One of the best teachers I've ever had, best teaching method out there!
it is so not teaching when you try so hard to have everyone fear you. he is one of the worst teachers.
he is the best teacher ever. he made social studies fun. no one can say he wasnt the coolest
I like him. He threw and apple on the wall - it was a grat lesson. ABout what? who knows - but i remembered it. I like to be made fun of. It was cool.
He makes history interesting... but sometimes he tries to get people to believe ALL his beliefs... especially about the president, but hey, he's pretty alright
