He may look a bit scary, but he's a really overall cool dude. The curriculum is SUPER straightforward. Yes, he's very picky about things like headphones and stuff, but if you avoid that you'll have no problem at all. Totally understands that students are treated unfairly and is genuinely interested in the lives of the students.
His class is so easy. If you copy down the notes exactly how he writes it and play his Jeopardy game you can easily get a 100% in his class. In ninth grade health with him I got a 101%. I never missed a point it was so easy. I really like how he is interested in the things we do outside of school and really thinks we get too much homework.
He is very nice even though he looks really scary. When your in his class he teaches you more than just health he teaches you many life lessons that will be very helpful to help us succeed in life.
Mr. Joyner has taught at Fairfax High for two decades now, and he certainly knows what he is doing. Not even a group of morons, idiots, loudmouths, lazy bums, apathetic lumps of human beings (aka teenagers) can stop him. Yes, he is a tad harsh, definitely not a pushover. Overall respect for his organization, and the respect he demands across the room. Remains in control over the class, disperses information well, and keeps students engaged. Slackers, phone addicts, and the like complain :-)
Hes a nice guy with some mood swings but hes really knowledgeable. He just has dumb rules about headphone use and talking. we have a lot of good discussions in class except so many people in the class are dumb. overall its an easy class
He's one of those teachers who tries to make an easy class hard. Pretty funny how much he emphasized it's importance. If health class is so important, why isn't it a year-long class? Oh yeah, that's right.
Amazing influence on my life! You are lucky if you get him as a teacher and you are smart if you get to know him
Cool teacher! Do your work and you'll be fineeee. The work is very minimal :)
I gotta A in his class so i got nothing to complain. It's not difficult its quite straight foward
his class is pretty easy but if you dont turn in your work he has strict policies also NEVER talk in his class he'll pause and make some smirk comment like "ill wait" so the entire class stares.
A really good teacher, just as long as you do all your work it's a guaranteed A
Teaches well, knows health. His mood changes quickly though. Often misleading.
Very interesting guy and makes the class fun by getting to talk about our weekends. Usually gives us the last 5 minutes or so to talk and very organized and to the point with assignments and when explaining something new!
He's SOOOO into health! He teaches you the material very well
I had him for health, he's pretty cool. He would talk to us about our weekend for like half an hour. Make sure you have everything in your folder. Make sure to study for the midterm and final.
i think he teaches the material in a good way, but i've never seen a person so serious about health class
hate him! he doesn't know anything but tiries to make it seem like he does
I'd say he's a good teacher. I know I learned a lot in his class and you really have to think about how hard it is to be a health teacher... plus he's pretty cool too.
he makes sure you learn and jeopardy is very helpful for midterm and the final, but the class discussions are boring and seem like they will never end
hes okay. the discussions get boring in class and there is a lot of work, but he always makes sure everyone understands everything
I love the discussions in that class. He makes you think about what it important in life
He is a great teacher. He explains it in a way that relates to his students. If you respect him then he will respect you.
The class is pretty easy as long as you do everything exactly how he tells you to do it. He can be kind of tough when it comes down to the projects.
Good guy, easy class if you just do the work, take notes and have your parents sign stuff. i got an A with not a bad amount of effort.
many may call mr.joyner "unfair" or "strict"... i disagree totally, he has rules, its his classroom! i agree strongly with alot of his views on "letting kids b kids" mr.j= cool guy
i think mr joyner is a pretty cool teacher. i think he teaches very well.
and his a good teacher he get to much in to teacherin he like teaching that whyi think he ones of the best teacer FHS I have ok he give easy grade if you do
Underappreciated, very professional. It's too bad Fairfax doesn't have more teachers like Mr.Joyner, frreal dude. Good luck in the future...
