Explains useless topics in class, assigns too much homework, doesn't prepare you for tests.
She is a gem. The class is not easy and the lectures can be very boring, however Fenstermaker is an incredible educator. She knows the information incredibly well and truly is passionate about the subject. Try talking to her outside of class and her dedication and love for history will be tangible.
She's a nice person and I respect her, however, she would be better off teaching AP Art History because I feel that is what she ended up teaching us in her lectures. Her lectures are not helpful, I think she would benefit from an outlined powerpoint like Mr. Hulse does. I recommend taking the class, it was an easy A for me, but studying wise know the terms and study guides well not her lectures. (online sources for her tests are great).
AP European History : Ms. Fenstermaker always lectures and doesn't really teach any other way. She gives a lot of homework tho! I spend hours on homework weekly. She says it should take you under two hours, but I end up spending three to four hours because I'm a slow reader. Lots of bookwork.. I do not advise taking her class unless you plan to study a lot. The class is harder and more boring than I expected... GOOD LUCK!
very nice but she rambles on with her lectures daily your better off just teaching yourself from the book
Miss Fenstermaker is the polar opposite of a good teacher. Yeah, she's nice to talk to, and yeah, she's pretty knowledgeable. However, she wastes class time by lecturing about pointless things that are never on the test, and she assigns way too much homework, which is almost never helpful for studying for the test. So, if you end up having Fenstermaker and you want to leave with an A in that class, you're going to have to spend about 5 hours studying every night. Good luck to you, my comrade.
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I have to teach myself all of the material, and her lectures are pointless. The class is easy, but that is only if you study for about 5 hours a week.
I took AP World History with Fensty and I know it was her first year but she is terrible with scheduling things, the day before the final she was 'teaching' us about World War 2 ....... which doesn't exactly lead to an A
her tests are usually on exactly what she never talked about and everything I learned I got from self-study she was no help I got an A but that was from making my own learning plans and a lot of crash courses online :(
Fenstermaler is a horrible teacher. She does not teach you anything important in class, gives tons hw (a lot of it does not even help with the AP test) , she is boring, does not even answer questions most of the time, and is often mean to the students
She has little grasp on the subject of AP World History. She's discouraged my extremely motivated daughter. She refuses to explain anything when my daughter seeks her help outside of the class period. She fails to provide consistent grading and teaching, and becomes frustrated when her students don't understand the material. I'm not usually one to blame a teacher for my children's failures, but my daughter comes home in tears because she cannot understand what she is doing wrong in this class.
Ms. Fenstermaker is one of those teachers that you really hope you get because you learn the material and it's not just memorizing facts. She knows what she is talking about and it makes the subject really interesting and even better, I passed the AP test!!!!!!!
Best. Teacher. Ever. Hands down, most knowledgeable teacher at dana hills. She is a privilige to get
Fensty is really funny and wierd, but crazy wierdos make the best teachers I always say. She really knows everything and she is so nice too!
fensty is the best teacher evaaa <33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
At the end of the year, I am happy to say that Ms. Fenstermaker was my favorite teacher. She is funny, keeping our spirits up in a hard class. Even at the end, her class is still very interesting.
I just finished the first semester of AP Euro and I am so happy I stuck with it! Taking this class as a sophomore has really showed me that the AP classes may be hard but they are definitely worth it. You really learn alot f
My son just finished applying to college and I wanted to give a shout out to his significant teachers. Ms. Fenstermaker is definitely one. She gave him the essential study skills he needed to do well in grades 11
AP Euro is not easy, but it's worth it. You have to be disciplined. Ms. Fenstermaker keeps it all together and moves fast, but she has great info. and visuals. I'm learning a ton! But if you're lazy, this is not for you.
This is a great class and I'm really learning alot! You work hard in this class but it's really interesting and almost all students pass the AP test. She doesn't talk down to us and is very helpful.
a sweetheart, but very frazzled and unorganized, looses track of things very quickly. if you do the work and do horribly on the test you can still get an A in the class. she goes off topic a lot but she's nice
she is a pretty easy teacher if you study an hour the night before and do the outlines if not your screwed she is also very pompous always says things like per sei and stuff and looks down on the people that don't do well
class aint weited so not too hard if u do work and study a bit. shes borning in the way she teaches though. so ull have to learn by urself. a kind person overall and wants u to succeed .
Not necessarily a genius, but a sweetheart nonetheless.
You won't learn anything from her. Just remember: READ THE BOOK, LOOK FOR THE ANSWER WITH WHITED OUT PAGE NUMBERS NEXT TO IT ON THE TEST, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DO THE BLUE BOOK!
She knew her stuff, but being in a darkened room with just a projector are things that'll put anyone who isn't motivated, to sleep. She answers questions, and is pretty nice about curving tests. Tries to keep it fun :-)
She is a pretty good teacher, just a bit boring. She knows her stuff though, just like you and me though gets a but confunded at times. All in all, Fenstie is pretty sweet
Ahh. Fentie. super sweet, kids dont appreciate her until they're out of her class. she's the self proclaimed queen of the projector, and although it's boring at times, you cant help but love her. just do your homework.
she gives really boring lectures and a ton of work but she will support you if she knows you are trying. after the ap test she is a lot nicer and actually let's you have fun during class.
We love Fensty!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo<3333333333333333333 Boring but hilarious! Sweetest person ever!!
People seem to not appriciate Fenstermakers teaching style. If your disrespectful, or unappriciative she'll let you know. Shes a bit of a hard head, but a wonderful human being. Do the work and you'll ACTUALLY learn.
From what my son says, I would urge your child to find another teacher for AP Euro. Although he did fine in the class the outcome wasn't worth the intense effort.
she's a really nice teacher, but she gives A LOT of work. seriously if you want to get an easy grade just do the hw. Although her lectures are really really boring!!!
I am very confused as to why so many people don't like her. She seems to be very knowledgable in her subject area and is generally pretty lenient for an AP class teacher.
Yes, she is really boring, but you can totally get an A in her class without much effort which makes her a good teacher in my book
Fenstermake... *cringe* she has absolutely NO idea what she is talking about at all! Switched out of her class ASAP at the end of first semester... evil man..
Ms. Fenstermaker's nice. Lots of written work but not that hard, and she tries to keep kids interested.
