She is not patient with her students. If you don't understand something she'll get very frustrated with you and tell you to come back during OH. if you go back to ask her the question she'll yell at you for not understanding it the first time. She thinks she is fair and funny but she is not. She mak
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HER TEACHING AT ALL!!!!!! never take her fst class!!! don't say I didn't warn you
A very compassionate teacher. She really cares about her students and tries to cultivate a love for math in them.
A great teacher and an even better human being. It's clear that she is passionate about math, and makes the class engaging with her vibrant personality.
She may not be the coolest teacher but she knows what she's teaching and as long as you do your homework daily etc you should be fine. I took Calculus with her in my senior year and had senioritis but managed to pull off a solid B both semesters. She's a good teacher.
She's condescending and a bit neurotic at times. For FST students, they won't like her. She's very specific about hw points. If you miss anything it's hard to make it up.
I don't understand why her score is low. I earned a 5 on the AP calc exam without any of my own studying-just paying attention in her class. Exams are fair, and she has an easy end-of-year project instead of another exam, which is better than the other teacher! I honestly think you are all whiners.
I went from being a B/C student to an A student in math, thanks to Mrs. Ives. Exams are similar to homework; no surprises. She has a lovable, grandmotherly approachability. However, if you feel entitled to a good grade without working for it, you will have a sour experience-your fault, not hers!
Good lord this woman is terrifying. Clearly hates FST students and treats them like they're complete imbeciles, has weird moments where she randomly breaks into song and terrifying bouts of anger. Reminds me of the nurse from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
I liked the way she taught because she has everything ready on her notebook and follows it exactly. I guess some ppl dont like that cuz she can't answer your specific question DIRECTLY. but she'll take you through the ENTIRE process and hopefully your question is answered at some point.
i think she has a good heart and good intentions, but seriously, the whole taking point off homework. homework is for learning from your mistakes, i think if we correct it we should get credit.
I think she is an excellent teacher! Granted, her tone could use some improvement, but she taught me in a way that was completely understandable. I understood the concepts and actually managed to pull of a good grade...even though I never do any hw.
this woman is evil.picky and vindictive and and demeaning in tone.
this class really bothers me cause of the teaching. i was of a fond lover of math and now i hate it.thanks
who hired her? seriously...great person but teaching just isn't her thing.
the class is impossible...pre calc is already difficult...she made it impossible
she's pretty hard as a teacher, but very nice if you are polite to her and drop the stereotypical teenage smartass cynicism at her classroom door.
When teaching math, she often gets the answers wrong herself and has to redo them. Her explanations are rather confusing.
She has her favorites. For others she's very unhelpful and discouraging. I enjoyed and was good at math until her class
SUPER COOL! She makes funny outdated jokes, and likes acordion music. She really made math fun with games and activites and labs.
i hated math before...but now....i hate it with a passion
