I've taken three art classes with Ms. Matthies and I can confidently say that her classes had very limited rewards. Her grading was arbitrary, deadlines are unknown, and projects were elementary. Most of the class will be theater kids who draw some form of anime or pseudo-social justice critiques. If you want to learn true art history, theory, and the practice of art, this is not the place to start.
Easy grader but talks so slowly that it's often intolerable, and rambles on and on. Just put in some earbuds!
a bit cold and distant at first but she is actually a really nice and funny person with her kids by the end. Dont get her mad though. Very good at her job and knows how each class needs to be treated. You can do whatever you want as long as you keep up with the projects. The project difficulty is all about which class you have with her.
She's very knowledgeable about her lessons. She has helped me enjoy art. The first teacher who has been able to do that. She rocks!
I took Ms. Matthies years ago and it took me a couple of years to realize and appreciate the skills I learned in her class. She is a great art teacher and is inspiring and will help lead you in the direction you need to go. I
She's a nice teacher. She lets you do what you want and respects you no matter how good/bad your art is.
Had her for 2 years. I like her as an art teacher. She's cool. Nothing to complain about here. Just don't make her angry, be clean and neat
MRS.MATTHIES IS AWESOMEEE!...except i think we should be able to eat in the classroom :) but shes a great teacher
mrs. matthies i wouldnt have had your class any different. dont listen to the negative people. listen to me! =)
just get on her good side, shes really a good art teacher and has a lot to say if you just get to know her!
She fake laughs!!! Very tedious and shows repitition.
yells at everyone for things that dont matter but she is good at what she does
