I adore Ms. Maturo. It's an absolute shame that she had to stop teaching chem, because I was really looking forward to having her again. A2/Trig last year was a blast, and I learned a lot =]
Ms. Maturo goes out of her way to help her students. She really want her students to do well.
Such a nice lady. I have her for math this year. She can get stressed out, but she knows what she's talking about.
One o the nicest teachers at TJ. She will bend over backwards to help her students. Alg 2/Trig was one of my favorite classes
i love mrs. maturo!! if you listen during her lectures you will surprised just how much chem you will learn! although she gave a lot of homework, it really helped. very nice lady, very good teacher.
She's a very nice lady, but she's always very stressed. She's not very good with math. I had to teach myself the whole year.
A really nice person and great teacher. She's gives great notes and is always willing to give extra help. She genuinely wants her students to do well, so she'll help in any way she can.
Very nice teacher and always prepared to help you out. Really wants her students to do well, but ends up being a little too stressed out.
A very nice lady. Avoid asking questions when she's stressed. I had her for math. You really don't need to pay attention during lectures, as long as you undestand the HW. Easy tests with corrections.
stick a fork in her: she's done for her sake and for ours, she needs to RELAX be nice to her and try to let her calm down, everyone's happier that way
I really liked Ms. Maturo... she's a really nice person and i dont understand why most people didn't like her. She can be really stressed at times but if you talk to her one-on-one when she's not busy (lunch/8th period/ break are good times), she'll really help you. I love that she passes out notes/ exactly what she'll tell you during lectures so if you get lost, forget what she said, or just don't feel like paying attention, you can learn on your own. her students did very well on the final
The thing about the class is that you could use the time so much better. She can normally explain things one on one, but when the whole class is asking stupid or irrelevant questions you get confused yourself. Usually I just don't pay attention and get by perfectly, besides the lectures confuse me. At least she gives us the notes on what we need to know that way we learn it. Honestly, I think she is comparable to the other chem teachers (the midterm grades prove it)
Mrs. Maturo is such a nice person. I have her for Alg. 2./Trig. Although I admit that she can be a bit unclear at times or maybe a little confusing, she always offers her time after class or during 8th period. When you ask her a question, you'll get it right away. She gives a lot of extraneous points her and there and usually sufficient extra credit points if she felt that maybe she was "unclear" on when something was due.
Shes a very nice teacher. Most people don't get good grades in her class but that is because they are lazy, not her. She always hands us notes to everything we need to know and we never use the textbook at all. Only thing was that I wished she wasn't always so stressed and that she gave more quizzes, a few random ones are given but grades are mainly based on Labs and Tests.
The thing about her class is that you must make good use of her blackboard stuff. It's critical to understanding how to use formulas. Her lectures aren't great, but usually fine as long as you do homework. Really nice and I wish she was less stressed all the time :(
her teaching can be unclear, but if you DO THE WORKSHEETS, everything gets a lot easier.
always gone, never in classroom too busy minding other peoples business. i think she has another job--works for the software house. very confusing
A really nice and very reasonalble teacher. She wants us to understand the material and is also very understanding in many situations. She's also not bad at teaching her subject, though her lectures can be unclear.
Lectures may come across a bit clear at first, but she is always willing to help you understand the material. She is very fair and just an overall great person.
I learned nothing all year in chem; i got by by cramming before tests then forgetting the information right after... so that messed me up on the final and quarter exams. She's really bad at explaining things. I learned so little i had to drop out of AP.
Hardest working teacher I have ever seen! She always helps when I have questions and her class is challenging.
I feel so bad for her: she tries so hard. Unfortunately, her lectures aren't so great and she isn't the best teacher. An A for effort, lower for the class.
really really nice, and will definitely help you if you ask. Do your labs and turn them in on time. Confusing lectures, but the homework and labs help you.
She cant teach although she tries. Nice lady with a wacky sense of humor. But she does have her bad days. Stressed out so much. Poor Mrs. Maturo, shes so nice
Very, very nice person. Her lectures were confusing sometimes but ask her one on one for help and you'll get it. Plus she gives 2% extra credit every quarter!
she CANT TEACH. her lectures confuse you sooo much and if you ask questions she'll just confuse you EVEN MORE..the whole yr i taught myself chem..shes nice tho
Her lectures end up confusing me more, but she is really sweet. But still too stressed out and uptight about everything.
teaches nothing in class; long and boring lectures, rushes through concepts and never goes in depth. gives lab quizzes w/ material that wasnt on the labs
awww i feel so bad for her! she's always so frustrated and sad
I'm continually frustrated and angered by her class. I do well enough, but she only makes things less clear. She can't teach, and she's way to stressed out.
Sh works really hard, but she just can't teach. Her lectures just end up confusing me more.
plays favorites, lost many many people's papers when i had her.
she doesn't seem like she really likes teaching but she's awesome.
she's okay. seems like she's going to blow up at any second though. and she doesn't hate me yet so i'm not doing too badly.
Answers to homework online. Just know how to apply formulas for the back of written part of the test.
scatterbrain. is she ever on time!! very disorganized jumps all over the plaace hard to follow.
Easy if you're good at educated guessing (that's why I got an A)
she likes people who actually look like they are involved and asking questions
Very scattered, but works all the time. Her lectures are well prepared, but boring and hard to pay attention to.
She seems overworked... She's good with the calculator stuff, which is cool, but her lectures are boring and can be pretty confusing.
She's always stressed out...she takes her job too seriously. Her class is fun though.
she's good once you get used to her, plays favorites though
She's hard to understand. Other than that she is GOOD person and teacher.
yes,she's nat'l board certified;makes you wonder,huh;had her for chem 2 yrs ago
we do these labs that are meaningless. is she really nat'l board certified?
Unhelpful in class but willing to help if you stay after. A good person.
sometimes you can sense that she didn't prepare for her lectures.
Cool class-Ilearned a lot this year, just pay attention!
not good at explaining stuff at all, but is a nice person
her class is so easy, i pay no attention, and she teaches for the money
She's frequently absent. Compared to the other classes, her classes are behind.
You can pick up everything in her class just through osmosis, I swear.
