Yes, he plays favorites, and kind of abandons some people early on, but I was his favorite, so I think he's awesome! He's a lifelong nerd, talented musician, and is very intelligent in his analyses of all things. Yes, he doesn't teach English in English class, but he teaches you about something more important, life! In critical thinking he expands even further on this, truly enlightening us. Preachy? Maybe. But he's an amazing, multifaceted individual who is a pleasure to get to know.
He doesn't give homework or lots of tests, which is why students like him. However, he plays favorites, tries very hard to be likable, gets distracted all the time, and definitely preaches his views a lot. He says he doesn't care about grades and then proceeds to grade you on a conventional 1-10 rubric. Your grade is based on whether he likes you or not.
Extremely easy class, practically free A. But you will end up learning nothing, which in the long run is bad considering the SAT includes an english portion.
The type of teacher who is nuanced in the school of magic know to laymen as popular culture. He can hold his own in an argument about the Matrix and then explain in depth the philosophical meanings of it. His method of running his classroom seems similar to the way Sun Tzu managed his soldiers, but this means that he has total control over his classroom with the complete cooperation of his students. Prepares you for his assignments and actively for any class in which major essays are due.
Bender is super nice if you're on his good side. Plus if you're on his good side you're pretty much guaranteed 100% on all ur essays. SOOOOO much extra credit in that class. Lectures are pretty interesting and there are some though-prokovking discussions that go on as well. A really nice, easy, laid back guy. Tests are super easy. I really miss his class.
He was an amazing teacher who taught me how to think. He forced me out of my comfort zone and I appreciate that.
i have him for a class. asdkjhasjhdsajhbsbsldfblsdhfbskhfbsldhfblsadhfblshdfbsladhfbsaldhfbsjdhsshdfbslahdbsa
I actually really liked his MYP class. He was helpful and laid back. My only complaint is that he would go off on tangents about stuff that belonged in a TOK class.
Never got the forceful vibes, but he is definitely opinionated and in a great way. He shares media with his students that is interesting and often rejected by others for content and mild vulgarity.
he was really a great teacher i had a lot of fun in his class. no real complait except i have to agree that it did feel like he was preaching his views sometimes
great teacher, has his faults sometimes, but who doesnt? Helped me a lot, even my senior year...oh and he gave me xtra credit for a timeline, cuz i stayed uo all night doing it...=)
His class was a joke. We just read out loud and filled out packets. It's easy and he tries to be entertaining, which I guess is why so many people like him.
very good very good...yes he did work a lot with symbolism, but life would be boring with out the mind eye.
Good teacher, but stop with the symbolism. and whats up with his obsession with the matrix. and shut up about rat fountain. he moves so much!
Mr. Bender's a cool teacher, always willing to help out, and truly wants everyone to pass his class. Do your home work and you'll be fine. A+++ Teacher.
Asks for opinions then shoots you down if its not similar to his own.Teaches topics unimportnant to life after his class.SoO defensive and is never wrong! >:o
A great teacher! He had wonderful discussions in class and if you are there to learn, you will enjoy his class.
His cool but he needs better sitting positions cause he always kicks his legs!
Didn't teach us very useful things, tried to hard to relate to us, picked on students, contradicted himself constantly, and was annoying in general.
Fairly easy, and has some great discussions in class. Knows how to keep everyone interested, and cares about every student.
I had problems at home and I explained it to him. He was unwilling to help me.
