Very good, can be kind confusing at first because she teaches like it's a collage class but you get used to it!
Had her for WHH last year. Dr. Garber is easily the best history teacher I have had, and I have had pretty good teachers. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and her discussions in class are fun. Class is repetitive, but interesting, and I learned new stuff everyday. BUT. She gives a load of homework, most nights. I have had to outline about 5-7 pages every night, and her vocab is a killer. Make sure you make friends and split workloads, and dont get caught (duh). 10/10 would recommend.
Doc is the most amazing teacher I've ever had, she's a little nutty but is so smart and shares her knowledge with all of her students... Great teacher!!!!!!!!
Extremely knowledgeable on the subject, she is very qualified! The class can be difficult but I finished the year with an A+. The exams are difficult and the homework can take upwards of a few hours, but I genuinely enjoyed coming to this class everyday. It also forced me to learn time management and critical DBQ skills. Do not drop the class, it prepares you for the rest of high school, she is awesome, and you will have a blast!
She's a great, interesting, and fun person but doesn't consider that you have other courses that you receive homework from. Doesn't hesitate to assign 4+ pages of outlines notes or give advance notice of vocab due dates. (Vocab will take you 3+ hours to do and oftentimes you will have a week to do it). So if hours of history homework and endless lecture don't sound like a good time to you don't take her honors class.
knows what she is talking about but lectures you the whole class and when the test comes around you are like "what does this say"
She is a good person, but i dont agree with her teaching styles
the single best teacher i've ever had the honor of learning from. she's an outstanding scholar and you will learn something in her class. it's very difficult, but then again, she teaches honors and ap, so if you're not up for it, don't take it.
My favorite class of the day. As long as you get the work done during class, she lets you get off topic and have the funniest debates. I look forward to her class everyday. I don't know why everyone says that she is so mean because I have never seen her get mad.
She's honestly one of my favorite teachers that I've had this year. I didn't realize how much I really appreciated being in her honors class until the year ended and I was able to see just how much I had learned. She teaches the class just like a seminar, so there's never a dull moment and everyone has to participate to fully understand the material. Yes, her class takes a lot of work (sleepless nights occasionally required), but it's rewarding, exciting, and informative. -JH
She is a little eccentric to say the least but she is a nice person. Dont drop in the beginning of the year its definitely worth staying. The class itself is fun but it is a lot of work. (the volcabs will make you cry). But the midterm and other for her class was much less memorization of specifics so in someways the tests easier. just write A LOT on tests.
Know your stuff and you will be good. She is a character favorite class of the day it is a challenge and I won't be wimping out and dropping this class
I didn't really like cuz her tests are pretty hard, and for essays, she's a pretty tough grader....... if you get her, drop out.
I just hated her class cuz I think she didn't really like me.
Advise from a friend: Don't take her class
If you do, well, then GOOD LUCK (you'll need it)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sort of an eccentric, but is a moderately talented teacher. you can get anything from 97 to 70s on her tests, if you have decent intelligence. i sort of liked her class, though i didnt like Europe.
Her class isn't easy but if you spend some time to do the work correctly and understand what she is teaching it's not too difficult. She cares about her students and wants them to learn, even if she h
She is a really good teacher. She does give a lot of work like outlines and vocab. I got a 100 for last marking period. Prepares you for later things in life. Just remember to study.
one of my favorite classes ever. for a CP class it was a lot of work but she is good at teaching and she is a nice person.
if u have her for honors, it is alot of work its pretty tough... wish she gave less work... but she is a good teacher.
i actually like her class.. i guess shes hard but she is an funny teacher!
She's a bit strange, but I like her. She was a good, interesting teacher and person. I enjoyed her class thoroughly. She was a tad unfair over certain things, but other than that shes great.easy tests.
Dr. Garber's a great teacher. She's extremely smart, intelligent, and definitely knows what she's talking about. Extremely qualified. Most kids don't like her, but she was my favorite this year.
Dr. Garber's great. She teaches very well, and her classes are very freeform in that they are just discussions that revolve around her lectures. Her classes require a lot of work, but she's good.
Her teaching style is to give topics that you must outline for homework and bring in the next day for class discussion. Speak up in class because she loves participation! A lot of work (reading documents, defining sometimes 50 vocab words, outlining chapters) is involved for success, but it's worth it! Love her class discussions~
Dr. Garber lectures, so if that's the way you learn, you'll be fine. She's an easy grader, as long as you do your homework and terms. Never be afraid to write too much in her class. She's a bit dull sometimes, though.
She is wonderful teacher, but she is strict on homework and here terms, so watch it. Her class is usually the best one of the day for me.
Dr. Gaber is great...yes she does give a lot of work but it helps me understand history soo much better. i used to hate history and now i actually enjoy it. She is a great and fun lady
Though her teaching is atypical to say the least, she's still cool. Has great advice on college and Guidance, etc. Though she gives a lot of work...if it all gets done..you'll find yourself just a little bit brighter.
interesting lady.. we have some of the weirdest convo's. alot of work... but its fun in class usually
Wow..Dr.Garber is awesome. I learned more in that class than any other. I'm in enriched now (had her for WH:CP) and it's easier that hers; but I learn a lot less.
simply put: i have learned more so far this year in her class than i have in all my previous history classes. a lot of work, but it comes with the territory.
i loved Dr. Garber! lot of work but its helpful. we had some great convos... flying pigs! she also understood me better than any teacher i've ever had.
princeton grad..so what!? we're still in high school give us a break!
Dr. Garber is a great teacher. She is so friendly. Even though the work is tough, she will perpare you well for college. I think she is lonley, though.
Dr. Garber's a great teacher, and she's really cool if you give her a chance.
Finding information that you don't understand is impossible because you have to figure it out yourself because she doesn;y help you figure the question out.
Although, she gives us tons of work... she still has been so far one of the best teachers I have ever had and I'm glad to be in her class
Dr. Garber may give a lot of work, but she is one of the best teachers i've had. She keeps me in line, and makes sure i do all my work because there's so much.
Garber is one of the best, a little bit more work than usual but all worth it. that class taught me things I will remember forever.
She's very strange but still an incredibly kind understanding person. You definitely learn a lot in her class. I just feel bad for her bc I think she's lonely
As stated, the workload for Dr. Garber can be plentiful, she is one of the few high school teachers that will affect the rest of your life.
Best teacher in the school, and provides interesting class.
Though she is incredibly hard I liked having Dr. Garber because she is down to earth and isn't mean or irrational.
Garber's sooo hard and there is sooo much work but it will prepare you for college
incredibly challenging and fun! you can discuss anything in AP Euro. take the class and learn a LOT
The class isn't difficult, but it is a lot of work. Once it's all over, you realize how much you learned from the lovely Dr. Garber. When AP test time comes, you'll all be thankful you still kept the countless documents.
I had Dr. Garber my Freshmen year, and all though we were a college prep course, she treated us like we were an enriched class. besides that, she is a really nice teacher. and she understands more about you than you may think she does.
So so so much work... nice person but most of the work is entirely pointless.
Really tough class with a lot of work and really fast paced. She's very nice and assigns work that is helpful to the topic, but in large quantities.
If you want a good education in history, Dr. Garber is perfect. Hard class, but very informal. Excellent teacher
She is an extremely hard teacher and anyone taking her class should expect a TON of work, but I know time management b/c of her. I didn't learn much history b/c I was stressing so much about passing her tests, but I did learn life lessons.
i didnt realize how much i appreciated her till she was gone....
awesome teacher, gives a lot of uselss work though. but shes nice as anything
