Good class to learn how to write. Creative lesson planning. Helpful feedback on or writing. Bacon Nation.
If you take things super seriously than you might not enjoy his class. I didn't like him at first but when I told him I needed more clarity and help he helped me, gave me. The discussions and stories make the class fun.
This dude... If you take things to seriously and get easily offended do NOT take his class. He will make fun of you is you mess up, say something stupid, don't do the work, etc. But he's just a great dude and a great teacher and I loved the discussions we had in his class. A really smart dude with a lot of strong opinions, who is able to teach a very fun class.
He is rreally funny and will make fun of you, but he usually doesnt mean it.
Bacon's class isn't hard if you do your reading and work hard to improve your writing. At times he's rude and insensitive, but it's refreshing, and he's a funny guy. I saw lots of students in my class get offended or unhappy about things that he would say but it's a situation in which you have to learn to roll with the punches, and he wound up liking me because I could. If you're up front with him he'll take you seriously about anything. His goal is to thicken kids' skins and give perspective.
I learned so much about writing in his class. He's hilarious once you get past the fact he's pretty intimidating.
Mr. Bacon was cool but he didn't give us instruction or offer help. If you're really smart and have no life you will do good in this class but if you need some instruction on what the hell is going on then you will fail. He's a cool teacher and he's funny but I think I learned more about squirrels in the class than the actual material and I ended up having to retake the class. You'll be entertained in this class but you won't learn anything.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Taught me a lot, but only because I was willing to learn. He is actually a super fair guy. And he's not mean, just harsh sometimes.
Very hard, but fair. You will learn a lot in this class, just don't count on it to be easy to get a good grade.
I've only had his class for a little bit and at first i was scared cause everyone says he's so mean but really i liked him. he was funny and had a dry sense of humor but it was fine. Since I don't rea
He's a beast. And one of the best teachers I've ever had.
He's a really good teacher, my writeing went from a c- my first essay to a B in one semester. He is really funny and make jokes about kids in his class I guess if your sensitive you might get mad but
He is strait out. If he doesn't like you, he will tell jokes about you in front of the whole class. He is a hard grader, but his stories make up for it. He is hilarious.
He is a guy that you have to get used to. He clearly dislikes stupid people and will make fun of you if you deserved it. He would make fun of kids height or if they got introuble or something.
Freaking funny guy. Ties in the lesson with some hilarious story. You have to appreciate dry humor to get it. Hard grader, but tells you what to improve on.
Sarcastic, Cynical, and Hilarious. In my opinion, the best English teacher at Santa Cruz High, but also the toughest. Work hard and you will not regret it. Plus you will definitely get some laughs!
The man. But when I was actually in his class, I did not enjoy being around him. Now he is cool.
He's a great teacher, but he's really picky about organizing your stuff.
