At first, my daughter was panic that she heard Ms.Booth's class is very hard. She end up liking it and learn a lot.
I had her for English 1H and although the class was hard and I didn't like doing the grammar every Tuesday, I really learned a lot and improved my writing. She is really passionate about teaching English and her lectures can be interesting.
Some kids don't like her because she's hard but the stuff she teaches is very helpful and you'll be fine as long as you pay attention and do the work. Also, she accepts NO late work.
Jeez, don't screw up a thing, don't do any other studying, use big words, devote all your time, don't procrasinate and you'll get at most a B.
wow i can't believe that i actually survived a whole year with her in english 1 honors. i thought from the first week of school that i would die. but her class helped me a lot with essay writing (basically making up bs) and i'm like the master bs-er now. she can be really strict at times and her piercing eyes just scare the hell out of you.
Had her for 2nd semester due to changing schedule for sports. Great teacher! Although her class is quite challenging (after all it is an honors class) she teaches very well and makes sure everything is clear!
Our son got to her class in the middle of the year from another good teacher. He said that while he had to do much more work and live in a strict environment, he learned a lot in her class, more than in all his previous classes. She is hard but fair. She really teaches you. He is looking forward to taking her in a Junior year.
Had her for English 1 Honors. She can be biased at times and the class is quite difficult, but as long as you turn in your work and do as she says, you will learn a lot and be prepared for future English classes.
strict, bring in everything on time, will not accept late work for the majority of the time beware of "fluffy"-essay teaching, no bone in the end though, you will be prepared for ib
Easy to get good grades in the class, but she's VERY biased.
if you participate and spend time on hw, such as essays, the class is do-able. somehow 1st semester was alot harder for me than 2nd semester. But if you try, you'll get a good grade.
she's pretty cool, just gives a lotta work :P just get on her good side and ur good to go :D
i had mrs.booth 2 yrs ago, and im going to have her next year in IB english! my experiences in her class were amazing...it's not the easiest class, but if you stay focused and get your work done, you'll get an A for sure! she does talk a bit slow, but she's really sweet and treats her students like we're her own kids ^-^...she helped me so much and im looking forward to next year!
I had her freshman year for honors. She is a little biased at times, but she really appreciates sophisticated writing styles (use big words). Her class was just average for me: it wasn't too hard, but it's not something you could sleep through either. Her directions are extremely clear, and your writing and analytical skills definitely improve. She doesn't really tell us how our work is weighted (grade-wise), though.
earn a good reputation and u will do good, or else ur in trouble
she tells you exactly what she's looking for. learn to BS and elaborate, nothing is wrong to her if you can explain it. participate a lot & you'll be fine. Become her favorite and you'll be fine.
She's not an easy teacher, but she's sooo good at what she does. I learned more in her english class than in any english class i have taken in the past.
I had Mrs. Booth for English 3. She's really nice and helpful. You will learn A LOT from her class. I'm in college and I must say, her ENG3 class helped me a lot!
I had Mrs. Booth for English my junior year, excellent teacher. I learned and remembered most of my SAT vocab from her class. If you take regular, her test are not very hard same goes for writing.
I survived her class, and it wasn't that bad. I didn't enjoy her class that much, but didn't hate it either. Didn't connect with her as a person.Kind of learned some things. She was overall just OK
not a very useful teacher... very bad at explaining things
she is a good teacher, take her if you want an A. She gives a lot of work, but it helps out on your grade. She is one of the good eng teachers on this campus. she's great =)
i totaly agree with everyone. he is hard and he is lazy and does nothing, grades hard and is helpful in anyway. you have to get on his good side to get an A in the class
She's okay, but I agree that she teaches down to us.
he makes the class seem easy but he pushes it like an AP class when hes only teachin reg. as a result alot of his students are failing especially the seniors but overall hes fun
if you know how to write, he likes you. if you are smart, he likes you. if you don't, well... be funny is all i can say.
very easy, when he does decide to teach, he is good..tries to help in anyway, very chill as long as you dont disrupt anyone
good teacher, had her for english1. very fair, nice, sometimes helpful but not very clear. read lit. books, sometimes pop quizzes. easy class
she's very biased, especially in essays and such a hypocrite. you dont learn anything and she cant really teach. dont let her sign your ap papers.
Has good intentions, but sometimes just made me feel inferior. Seems to teach down to us - even the smart(er) ones. Never curves tests for honors. Class is ok if you're consistent.
Rooty! I remember the Live Poet Society and going outside. I remember him using my writing style in his book. Now I copy you as an English Teacher.
doesnt teach, and has a scary laugh....but its an easy A or B , so if thats all you want then go get him.
I remember his first year teaching, my soph. year. Loved his class, he was unlike any teacher I have ever had before. He inspired me to become an Eng. teacher.
easy and great teacher, who cares if he teaches or not. all i care is grade and GPA, like i will remember anything i learned in high school after i graduate.
Sort of looney character. Sleep through this class, not worth staying awake for.
He laughs and talks too much, a waste of time. But he's ok. He is biased.. but who isn't?
VERY biased towards certain individuals. Very easy class. He couldn't teach if his life depended on it.
mr. root is really cool n funny, but i agree that he shouldn't waste tOo much classtime joking around. but other than that, he's a really good teacher. he gives lot of great tips
