A knowledgeable, humorous, and an optimistic math teacher.
I took her for granted. She was a really good teacher if you also put in your own work. I miss her teaching and all her tricks tbh
She's a good teacher and really helpful. I just had her for Geometry and it wasn't bad at all!!
As you read these reviews you'll probably freak out, like I did during the summer when heading into Algebra 2A/Trig H. I just finished this class and it wasn't that bad. I can't say anything about freshmen accelerated though. Mrs. VanLeirsburg is very nice and bubbly if you DO your work. She understands the students needs and knows that they have other classes to worry about. You have to put in your own effort. Look online and look on YOUTUBE. She's busy in the mornings for help but go in early.
Ms. VanLeirsburg is a wonderful, wonderful teacher! She's extremely cheerful and never allows a minute of class to become super boring. Sometimes I felt as though her explanations were not the clearest, but a majority of the time, I completely understood what she was trying to teach us. She was very accommodating in terms of re-takes for tests and quizzes, and usually provided us with helpful study tools.
She has no idea what she's talking about half the time. She always goes off topic and doesn't teach very well. She constantly makes mistakes and doesn't care whether or not you understand the material. The students know more than she does, which is just ridiculous, especially considering this is the first time that we're learning the material. She's a teacher and her sole responsibility is to make sure her students understand the material and she can't even do that.
Good personality, she just can't teach. Makes things very complicated. We're learning it for the first time EVER.
I loved her!! she hysterical and made geometry really easy. Do your homework and she'll like you
Very horrible teacher. She bullies some students and ignores the rest. You can't understand a thing she talks about and she doesn't care if you don't understand. She will move on and give you a test even if no one understands the materials. Cross your fingers that you don't have her.
Mrs. Cagney is a pretty good teacher. However, she isn't that helpful to students. Whenever someone has a question about a math problem, she totally ignores that person if not that many students have questions on those. Also, we don't have a textbook in class. This means that we don't have a reference to study off of besides our notes.
She's a great teacher. I always enjoy her classes!! Take her class if you get the chance :)
People keep complaining about her Freshman accel. class being too hard. They don't realize she had to teach us Geo, Algebra 2 and trig all in one year, as well as extended materials. Its not that she's a bad teacher, she tries her best to teach you what she can. But if you take that class, be ready to have a lot of work at home. Its not at all impossible, I barely put in more effort than my previous classes and still got an A. You just have to learn quickly that you have to work in that class
Cagney did a wonderful job explaining in detail each concept and formula she used. She is very knowledgeable in her field. She was extremely helpful if you just asked for it, and she also lets you retake a majority of her tests. As for the tests, they were all very doable as long as you understood the material, although she liked to throw in a curve-ball question. To all the negative ratings- have you considered that you are the problem, and not her?
I really enjoyed having Mrs. Cagney as a teacher. She's very nice and always willing to help you out if you don't understand a concept. We had a ton of material to cover in freshman accelerated and it would have been impossible and impractical for her to go over everything we had to learn in class, so we did have to learn some concepts outside of school. She answered any and all questions presented to her in class, though, and I generally felt very prepared for tests.
All I can say is good luck to the freshman next year who have her. This class was hell, and one of the worst ways to ever get welcomed into Highschool.
That class was a hard year of math, but Mrs cagney tried her best. She wasnt a memorably good teacher, and not a memorably bad teacher. just there.
Cagney was a decent teacher; nothing special but nothing blatantly wrong. I had her for Geometry B, which was a really easy math course. Especially if you read the textbook (I never paid attention in
She always went too fast and never explained anything. We would be so lost on homework that it would take almost all the period. Then you would get homework that night and not know how to do it.
She is a good teacher if you are a good student. If you participate in class, so the homework It is a fairly simple class to understand. What one must understand is math isn't easy.. she is very willi
An awful teacher who's too hopped up on diet coke to actually care about her students learning and being prepared for the tests.
Way too fast-paced class. While teaching Extended Kids, a kid bting the dust isn't worth going back for to Cagney. Unless you have no social life or are amazingling intelligent, good luck.
Cool teacher but should have gone over material slower. did complain a lot but was funny about it, idk
an O.K. teacher, but complains a lot. goes way too fast in class and gives us over half the class to work on homework instead of going over the material. Was a big help outside of school though :)
