Peggy Carlock is one of the best teachers at AHS.
One of the best teachers I ever had. Always willing to host additional study classes, will push you to want to learn. Inspiring. One of the few teachers I had who really cared and took the time to explain if you are willing to take the time to listen.
Totally unhelpful. She is a very mean and strict teacher who deducted points from one's grade if you asked her questions. She gives so much homework that she keeps even her best students from sleeping at night.
Her excuse: You are in a college prep class, (I'm giving you a taste of what having a terrible teacher feels like)
Ms Carlock was honestly the beswt teacher I have ever had. She was always helpful and inspired everyone in the class to do well. She even told stories in class so that everyone felt connected to her. She didnt pick favorites and she taught for the smile. She taught with a purple passion.
I took Chemistry with Carlock years back and I must say it was the worst class of my life. Carlock was incredibly rude to me and humiliated me in front of the class on several occasions. She always had her favorite students and if you weren't one of those, chances were that you would be on her bad side. I never knew what I ever did to her that made her treat me so bad. Now after hearing that she is leaving Albany, I am relieved to know that more students won't be subjected to what I experienced.
She was a teacher. That never attempted to teach any of her students. She was disorganized.
The only thing I liked about her were her weird quotes. Everything else about her is just plain bad. She loses eveyone's homework and she picks favorites. She gave out a pop quiz on something that we
Ms. Carlock should be a scientist but in no way should she ever teach it to others due to non existant clarity and inability to teach agiven lesson
As much as I found her jokes to be irritating, she is a good teacher -- when she decides to teach.
Good grade but klajdkjfkahidhfil as a teacher teaching
Learn everything by yourself, and go in with very direct, intelligent, and forward-looking questions. This is the only way to understand her material.
be prepared to learn 95% of the material by yourself. the only reason she is still at this school is because she gives all her students mysterious As.
She is the best teacher I have ever had. she puts so much time into teaching our class but everyone takes it for granted. Assholes.
nobody likes her. she's really unclear about what she wants, and not very helpful. she is the most disorganized teacher i've ever had...
I think she is one of the best teachers in AHS. She is always helpful and I feel like she is truly on the student's side. Her lectures are clear, concise and engaging. She is an awesome teacher!
Terrible teaher. She is very unorganized and doesn't listen to other peoples opinions. She play favorites a lot. Does not update grades and it's very hard to talk to her because she's always "busy".
Terrible, her lectures are extremely confusing. She is mean to people. Puts off many assignments and labs we have done, makes class confusing.
She is rude and makes demeaning false accusations. Her teaching style is very difficult to understand, and she never teaches things in units.
Mrs. Carlock is the best teacher any student can ever have. If you are lucky to be inspired by her, then you have what it takes to defy life's challenges and pass with flying colors.
She's really intimidating, but it you hang on her every word, you might get it...
She tends to talk about nothing to do with the actual lesson. All the teaching is done by the student TAs, and thats not their job, it's hers. She loses people because she teaches on a whole seperate level when she does teach. I much prefer my TA's teaching style, it's easier to understand.
Extremely difficult and basically forces you to spend lots of time outside of class, but you learn the material.
Part1:She is a horrible teacher. I'm more stressed out from AP chem than by all my other classes COMBINED. However, it shouldn't be this hard. The material itself isn't this hard. It's the way she "teaches" (10 hours of total teaching time through 1.5 quarters). I don't get her class, or her. I understand the material, but then get docked points because I (and everyone else in the class) did not read a tiny subscript giving instructions for gaining half the points on the test. What a horrible class.
i had no problem with her. she's an interesting person.
The worse teacher ever. She never actually teaches only tells you stories about she she did teach. Or and how many times does one have to hear about Berkeley?
she is the rudest teacher i ever seen, but she is probably the smartest lady teachs science in this skool
pretty hard teacher to understand sometimes, but gives out so much extracredit that its pretty easy to pass her class.
Used to be horrible in my sopho year. As a current Junior, and in her AP class, I find her to be very nice and helpful than she ever was to me before.
Really hard tests and lots of homework, but then again gives extra credit by the hundreds. (being one of her favorites is massive extra credit)
Mrs. Carlock is a cool teacher, however unclear in certain parts of her teaching.Just get on her good side, and she'll be willing to help with anything.C/O '98
frustrating to be in her class- cool person, unorganized teacher
A terrible teacher. Often claims to have told or explained things to us that she has not, and gets mad when we don't understand. Can't admit she's wrong.
Just awful, prolly a genius inside but just a waste as a teacher
HAHAHA this lady is so smart but insane at the same time, her class is like a soap opera and i enjoyed and passed every minute of it with straight As!
Ms. Carlock is an above-average teacher at the beginning of the year, but once she breaks something , expect AP Chem to be like having no instructor at all
She knows what she's talking about, but makes everything into 1 big competition
Having such a great teacher encourages & inspires you to do well.
Great teacher, pushes students to excell, makes things happen (ie Washington DC
The one class i didn't pass... but still a GREAT teacher
