Mr. Mathison's class is easily my most interesting class. He captivates his students with his substantial historical knowledge and story telling capabilities. He is extremely competent and knows what he is teaching. Items an AP class, so it can be difficult at times, but as long as you make a solid study guide for the test you should be able to get an A.
The most straight forward class at the Prep. Not much homework , mainly just notes and understanding key concepts. Probably the most knowledgable history teacher at the Prep. The only way you do poorly in this class is if you simply don't take notes
Overall a great guy, very down to earth and knows his stuff better than any history teacher I've had. He isn't as strict in class as most teachers and is OK with joking around with students.
I have always favored calling him Mr. Mustache, despite the fact that he clearly prefers Peter Mustache. He knows everything about history, and expects you to as well. The only part of the grades that matter are the quizzes, and he does not grade his essays strictly. As long as you do the work, he will not care about the quality. Have fun sliding future seniors
well, it's essentially impossible to get above a C in his class unless you practice history DBQ's over the summer. he won't teach you how and that's a huge part of his grades
Little tip: read "People History of the US" by Howard Zinn in conjunction with taking Pistol Pete's class. Great teacher who knows his stuff cold.
Funny Guy. Great Class. You learn a lot. If you work hard and study, you can pull off a 90 easily.
He's a pretty cool guy but a tough class. Also the JV baseball coach, and he's always got good jokes
cool guy but hard grader and hard to get 90+ on tests
