BOOOOORING. But tries hard and very old school. High school nap time.
I personally hated his lecture style of teaching. Knows a lot of interesting history though.
This guy should still be teaching. Where the hell he go?
Mr. Scandura was easily one of my three favorite teachers at Stuy. He has a lecture style of teaching, which is perhaps less suited to some, but I always looked forward to his class.
Awesome handwriting, he had. First thing you do is take notes on board. That's all you need to succeed in his class. Listening to him can be boring, but you don't need to listen to him to do well.
This teacher is amazing. Despite sleeping in his class every day freshman year I learned enough to pass the AP test with a 4 without a decent teacher for my sophomore year.
this guy is old-school. very cool teacher. he is quiet and calm, dont talk in his class, let him lecture.
my favorite teacher at stuy. he does teach if u listen to what he says. stay up and learn or sleep
Very laid-back with a UNBELIEVABLE monotonous voice but actually does teach. I mean, I learned even as I half-dozed in his class! If only all teachers could teach like that!
he is very old school and when he gets mad at you he tells you to take a walk outside the class. he is a good teacher and very laidback and lenient with grades. DOES NOT LIKE TALKATIVE STUDENTS.
His voice is magical, it makes you fall asleep fast. His tests and quizzes are fair and simple. His teachings are very organized and neat. It's just that the class is boring
Scanduras nice, gives a curve on the final grade, but is really boring. just read the textbook chapters and you'll get a 95
Scandura doesn't overwork you. He just asks you to take notes. Then, if you do his hws and ace his tests you're fine for the rest of the semester.
pretty much a free period... do watever u want... if u want a 95 or above on his tests, just read the chapter in the textbook the night before the test and its an easy 95
his tests are easy, he doesnt pay attention to you, and he's ridiculous boring. if you dislike history, it's for you.
he doesnt seem to care too much what you do in his class as long as its not going overboard. his voice is soothing, but memorize the material for his tests and no worries!
just dont sleep and pay attention to what he says he might say something thats not in the book got a 97
Terrible teacher, lectures all class, everyone sleeps.
its basically a free period. u can do anythin u want sleep, hw, w/e. rilly easy and nice. but always goes off topic.
Nice guy, old-fashoined teaching style. Unimaginitive hw, if you want a check-plus on it you generally have to work for 2 hours to get it. Tests generally easy (but with a couple ambiguous questions, generally).
easy grades, hard tests, bad notes and boring lectures. overall, it was an okay class though
His class is easy, tests are toughies. But it's like a free period. 0 ; )
uuuber easy, yet gives hard tests. I also cont read his handwriting well.
I had him last year, and the class was so easy. He tells all these interesting stories and really made history interesting. Some people slept during his class and he didn't actually notice, but he is very nice.
His voice is so soothing!! Not that that is a bad thing, but for a teacher, it is, because you have a very hard time staying awake. Have caffeine before his class or else ZZZ......
Awesome if you like a nice restful class where you can daydream or doodle in your notes. As long as you don't fall asleep you'll still somehow absorb the info. Fav. freshman class!
Goes on lots of tangents, but you actually learn a lot (more than I can say for my previous history teachers).
Extremely easy. You'll fall asleep in class. Yet still subliminally teaches to you. I cant wait to take his NY history class.
Great teacher. If you like history you can listen to his random tangents and if you don't, catch up on some sleep. Either way you will get a good grade.
take ur notes, do your other hw (in class), read the textbook, get 100
If only bio was this easy
he's sooooooooooo nice and smart too =) but his tests are sometimes hard
Good teacher and GREAT person! Tests aren't too hard. Has the most soothing voice ever....makes you sleep, but we still love him. HW is wayy too long, though.
i go to the bathroom and i instead buy snacks in his class and eat it. he gave me an F because it wasn't factual when i wrote about Myths. he doesnt make sense.
nice person lecture sort of interestingif you strain to stay awake and test good if you DID pay attention
You will most likely cram for the tests, do well, and then forget all of it just in time for soph. year when you need it most! (All of the below is true though)
hehe had him freshman year - BOTH TERMS and all i did was sleep in his class... but i passed with high 90s ;)
well, the class is sorta like a free period of sleep, but since the HW basically covers everything he have to know, the information sinks in between tangents.
goes off on too many sidetracks- term was 3 days from being over and we only covered 3/4 of material. work/tests easy (hws too long, dont bother doing them)
he knows everything! even if he goes off on a tangent you still learn alot because he is so smart. his tests a pretty hard but the class is good.
He digresses a lot...but who cares! he's the nicest teacher in the world!
most soothing voice ever. a bit too easy though. very nice man.
