Easily the worst teacher I’ve ever had. Currently taking make up math cause I wasted a semester. He’s such an ass. If your reading this Mr. Henri... Fuc You!
Advanced math is hard tho
he is the type of teacher who has you figure out everything for yourself, hell help you, but won't give you the answer, his teaching style is very specific, it worked for me but did not at all for some of my friends
Mr. Henri gets a pretty bad wrap at berkeley high , depending on who you talk to. Some kids say he doesn't teach well when they get a bad grade on a test. I think he does a fine job teaching, he explains stuff clearly, and offers office hours.
All in all, I like him as a teacher and a person, and yeah, his tests are pretty hard, but you shouldn't expect easy tests in honors or advanced math.
Mr. Henri just doesn't not teach. He is one of the worst "teachers" I've ever had, He just doesn't explain anything and expexts everyone to get it.
He is a really demanding teacher, but if you work hard and pay attention, you should be fine. Good luck!
Can come off as eccentric or cruel, but he's knowledgeable and you will learn a lot if you're willing to put in the work. That being said, this class is by no means an easy A, or even an easy B. If you don't do the work, it WILL show.
I had Henri for two years (hnrs alg 2 & hnrs math analysis) he's one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated teachers at BHS, he loves math. His class may be tough but he's in his classroom at lunch/after school every day if anyone needs help. He may be a bit dismissive in class as his courses move fast but will happily explain anything if you come and see him outside of class. What you get is what you put in, I worked hard, got an A, most people who complain about him didn't put in the work.
Mr.Henri is the worst teacher ever. If you get him SWITCH OUT. His tests are dam near impossible. I do not recommend him, he does not help you if you need help. He's a very strict grader too. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS
Mr. Henri's teaching style is not right for everyone, but it works for me. Honors algebra 2 is a hard class, but Mr Henri is around at lunch and after school most days to help with the math. The exams are really hard, but the quizzes are easier so it is a nice balance.
A really bad teacher, you WILL fail his class. He does not explain things well, and if you ask him to repeat something he won't. In his class there is no form of sympathy at any time. If you get him try to switch classes.
Mr Henri will help you if you go in after school. Otherwise, if you don't like math, don't take his class. He is obsessed with math, can occasionally be understanding, but most likely you will pass the class with the lowest c.
Seems dedicated in his own way; likes Math himself; lacks common sense; arrogant, rude, uncaring, unfair; does not use PowerSchool the way he's required to; does his own thing; gives lots of CW/HW but hardly teaches; drives good students away form Math.
Mr. Henri is a great teacher! This is coming from a student who got C's both semesters of his Honors Math Analysis Class. While his class is definitely very difficult, people cannot expect to have their hands held through an Honors class. He teaches the material from the textbook well, which provides students with the tools necessary to do the work. If those tools aren't adequate for students to understand the hmwk problems, he is happy to go over the problems in detail with everybody in class.
Henri is a god. The poetry of numbers and formulas that comes out of his glorious mouth takes me on an unforgettable journey every time he graces my mind with his knowledge in class. He completes me
Great guy and great teacher. I've had him two years in a row. His teaching style takes some getting used to but once you do, the class is amazing. His honors classes are difficult but he does a very thorough and practical job teaching them. I love this guy. Great style also.
Mr. Henri has a very hard course, so if you aren't naturally smarter than all the other hnrs students you will have to work hard. If you're confused about something you NEED to come in at lunch or after school, thats when he'll be able to explain things to you in detail. He's a cool guy, just has a hard course. You won't like him of you're not prepared to work really hard
He encourages students to figure things out alone so they can actually understand material. if you truly don't know how to do something he WILL help you... but you really need to put like a hunnid % effort to do well in the class
Mr. Henri is well known for his brusque and unhelpful mentality. He will not help you out if you do not understand something. He often throws out "surprise quizzes" regardless if only 10% of the class understands the concept. He will destroy your GPA even if you try really, really hard. If you get him, contact a counselor to try to switch out.
Mr. Henri is a cool guy. Terrible teacher. I learned nothing from him and failed his class. I learned more in 5 weeks of summer school than a whole year of having him. I tried and he did not help. He's a nerdy, funny guy and if he taught better I would like him a lot more. I'm already terrible at math and he didn't really understand my problems with it so he didn't help me at all. Be prepared to work hard and get on his good side. (I took his geometry class.)
He is an amazing teacher, who can sometimes come across as a bit mean. His class is nearly 70 percent tests, so homework and worksheets are useless. The tests are very difficult, and the first semester final is nearly impossible. That being said, he is by far the best math teacher at BHS. If you have him get ready to work hard/earn your grade, and learn a lot of math. WARNING: he gives random pop quizzes throughout the unit, so stay on top of the material. (from an honors math analysis student.
Over the summer, I took a Precalculus course over the span of 18 sessions. It was the best academical decision I have ever made. I took home piles of homework every session, and cleared the entire textbook in six weeks. I feel like I learned more from him than I could've if I had taken this course over 180 sessions (2 semesters). It wasn't easy, but then again, the great teachers always push you. His tests were difficult, but they're all material we covered.
I had him for Honors Math Analysis, very difficult class. Full of himself, and his tests are really hard.
Mr Henri can be a pretty good teacher and I ended up liking him as a person by the end of the year. However I dislike his teaching style because he wants you to basically teach yourself. you find out things by yourself and make conjectures but he doesn't tell you if you are right or wrong so you could be learning the wrong thing all year. By the end of the year however he started teaching and when he does it's great. Its a difficult class.
People seem to dislike him, and occasionally he comes off arrogant, but he really teaches you the material. If you get to know him he's a really nice guy.
i have to acknowledge that he is good at teaching, but simultaneously fails in just being funny. totally losing interests during lectures. I ended up teaching myself.
Best math teacher I had at B-high. The tests aren't easy but their difficulty is commensurate with the quality of his teaching. Always wants to help those who care to learn.
he is a very hard teacher. his tests are just extremely hard but you learn alot
He is a wonderful teacher. Those who fail his class just don't understand math. Don't blame him. If you need help, you're supposed to ask him.
he is frustrating, unhelpful and at times just plain cruel
he doesnt teach you at all and the rumors are completely true, try to switch into the zero period if you can
I think Mr. Henri is a really great guy. Ignore the rumours and get to know him!!!
Well, I dont have him at Berkeley High, Im in his ATDP course. He seems to be a really good teacher, its a nice easy course.
ahhh i cant believe i made it through honors geometry... its not that hes just a bad teacher, but darn those tests BITE!!!
