Best class I have ever had. No exceptions or caveats. He taught me more about history, patterns of change, American Humor, love, hate, war, peace, and why America always seems to be on the edge of its demise. He treats every student like an adult. His class is based off text-book which is guides it. So lucky to have him, hope he has a great retirement. He earned it

I had Mr. Kollen for European History in 1998 and "Investigating Lexington's History" in 2000. He was a very enjoyable teacher, but with 15 years to reflect on it, I can also say that he was one of the most important. "Investigating Lexington's History" in particular is really well suited for Mr. Kollen's pedagogy, since he really shows you how history isn't just what happened, but also how people choose to talk about what happened, and that the history that we read today is as manmade of a creation as a Boeing 747. Anyone would be lucky to have the opportunity to learn from Mr. Kollen.

One of the best teachers I've had at LHS. Cares more about what you're learning than your grades, and he's a friendly guy. I was glad to have him and recomend him for those passionate about history.
