people will say all sorts of nasty things about him, but actually, he is a really good teacher. better than guess. anyway. i really like him and i look forward to his class. I'll be sad to see him go
Mr. Wanta is easily the best math teacher at Corona Del Sol High School. I will not lie though and say that his tests are easy... they are quite difficult. I currently have him for AP Calculus, and the material of the class is extremely difficult. However, Wanta still is able to get the point across without spoon-feeding students the answers... because that's not how it is in college. Even though he pays an extreme attention to detail and proper notation, that's how work is graded on the AP test
Good teacher, but a very hard class
I have him this year and he is a rough teacher so far! He is nice and such, but he likes to tell lots of stories, wasting precious class time. His tests are challenging and the extra credit is not always available in his class. When asked to go over hw and tests, the concept is still unclear for me, and I have a hard time understanding him. He always assigns a hefty amount of hw even when he doesn't go over the chapter! I have a tutor right now so hopefully my grade will improve!
I found it much easier to just re-read the chapters in the book than to listen to Wanta explain sine and cosine. Honestly he's a super sweet teacher, very funny, and very smart. But you won't be able to understand anything throughout the year..
He can be unclear at times and strict on test grading but is an overall good teacher. He also offers a lot of extra credit and has really funny stories!
Don't know where to begin, just a bad teacher.
Besides one-on-one he is an awful teacher. He can't teach to save a life and he frequently wastes class time with silly videos.
In AP Calc, he's extremely strict about notation and on tests if you're missing a single dx you're in for a world of hurt, but he only does this because on the AP test it'll be the same way and it's a good way to erase those bad habits for when it really matters. He does check homework pretty carefully, but that's also a good thing because you really need to do it to understand the subject matter. An A in the class and a 4 or 5 on the AP test are achievable if you do your work and pay attention.
Awesome teacher! Makes everything interesting with original examples! Some might say that his tests are hard, but if you pay attention and do your homework you should be fine!
Cool guy, knows what hes doing, if you average a D on tests you get a B in the class w/ all the xtra credit.
Somewhat picky on tests but if you're taking AP, you better hope he was more picky. Besides that, he does an amazing job teaching calculus, I owe my 5 partly to his clear methods.
Mr. Wanta is an excellent math teacher; he's very kind and patient, though he doesn't appreciate if you find the material easy and don't pay attention. Overall he's a wonderful guy though.
He's a great teacher, and he knows the stuff really well. His tests are hard, but if you study you should be alright. It's a challenging class, but that can be a good thing.
Mr. Wanta was a pretty tough teacher but he's a nice guy and kept me entertained with all the weird stories and stuff he does in his class. Definitely reccomend him
Probably the weirdest teacher I've had. He decides how many extra homework problems we have by rolling an 8-sided dice. Yes, he does show a lot of favoritism and the tests arn't all that similar to the homework. But he's not all that bad...But he is a pretty bad tennis coach.
wanta is a really funny guy and when he feels like it class is really a lot of fun wish hed keep a balance between calc and tennis
You can get a solid A on one test, then a solid 12% on a quiz when you forget one or two things. Difficult but he seems to be teaching to the test so its to be expected, i like him
wow........he is the worst teacher ever! he givies us chapter reviews that look nothing like the tests. good luck on getting an A.
Great teacher. He is the only math teacher that I 've ever understood. He has an unique sense of humor that makes the class fun and interesting.
Mr. Wanta is actually a very good teacher. It is true the class is not a walk in the park but calculus is not easy and he is very willing to help you with it.
He's an awsome teacher. Once you get a grip on his grading style and do your homework the class is a breeze.
good teacher. not so creative. very nice. explains+teaches well
Great teacher, had him for Pre cal. If you do you're homework you'll be fine!!
Hard, challenging class, and he seemed intimidating. Scary when he cracks jokes about actors and stuff. I never really felt loved in his class....Hard 2 pass.
I heard he wanted to get his rating up. So i'm here to help. Go Wanta
The best thing i can sayfor wnata is that he does genuinely try but some times what he says makes absolutely no sense
mr wanta was the best pre-calc teacher!!!! i had so much fun in that fun.. yessss... math is fun!!!
Wanta's cool, get over it. His jokes are funny and so are his stories.
He's really nice. Yeah, his tests are kind of hard but he's improved from last year.
Wanta is cool...he's smart enough to make life easy for you if you pick the stuff up quickly enough to grab an A on the tests (and being able to either embarass yourself at the talent show, or sit through tennis matches helps as well). Nothing like a 102
Mr. Wanta is by far the coolest math teacher, if not teacher ive had. SUre, his tests can be challenging for those who aren't prepared, but you can make up for tardies, u can go to tennis games, and you can use hw coupons.
I must say that Mr. Wanta is a funny man, but this is the hardest year of math i have ever experienced, i just don't mesh with his teaching style I guess.
Honors Pre-calc was the worst class... I didn't learn a thing and he wasn't very good at teaching the main points... he was learning at the same time he was teaching
at first i wasn't used to his strict way of test grading, but after a while i just got used to it and start acing them continually. Very nice guy, maybe just have to know him more to judge.
The thing about making tests harder down this page is not true.
He's a nice guy, his tests can be challenging. Lots of extra credit opportunities though. He's pretty funny
Mr. Wanta is a really cool teacher and is one of my favorite teachers this year. He still has room to improve.
I should say that i only know about his calculas class, and this is his first year teaching it, and so it is understandably extremely tough. But i hear that his other classes are extremely good, but i don't know firsthand.
