Though a decent director, Nation needs to learn that the students in his program are eactly that, students. While the students have extreme amounts of talent there is no reason to be as heavy handed with them as he is. Having worked in professional theatre for about ten years, I can say that there is no excuse for that kind of behavior.

He's the best director in NJ. Puts on amazing musicals and stage shows. Hard to work with, but if you do what he says, you'll benefit from it.

Bob Nation was my mentor back in the day.... Over 25 years ago. Kids, stop complaining and listen to the man. You make not like the messenger, but if you stop and listen, you might learn something. He is a brilliant director, and teacher - just let him!

i've talked to other music teachers about Nation's casting process and he isn't corrupt and he doesn't pick favorites like people think. if you didn't get a spot you thought you deserved than maybe your ego is too big for you. He's nice and he's knows what he's doing so don't blame him for stuff that you can't accomplish

Mr. Nation is an unbelievable director. His plays are better than any of the community theater around. Just don't take anything he says to heart: he can be hurtful, but I don't think he means to be. It's nothing personal: he just says what he has to say to get his plays the way he wants them.

It's impossible to really understand Nation. Just when you decide he's pure evil, he does something nice. Just when you decide he's a great guy, he says something absolutely awful. He's a brilliant director without whom we would have no drama department. Take everything he says with a grain of salt. Though I think he does mean well, he certainly can and does say hurtful things. We all just have to deal with it, I guess, cause his plays are incredible.
