She is either super sweet and the typical nice older woman, or she is LITERALLY INSANE and yells at you for no reason. IMP is new for her and she doesn't know how to teach it (understandably) and idk how she teaches Calc but I've heard she's good at it, but can't speak from personal experience.

Ms. Oakes has a lot of mood swings, but she can be really nice and funny if she likes you/your class. Ahem A Period BC Calc 2012.

I honestly really didn't enjoy my time with her as my teacher. It was a bad experience, because I felt she wasn't very fair. She picked favorites and graded differently depending on her mood--some people like her, but I'm for sure not one of them.

I love her! I can see how she picks favorites though, but since she likes me, i like her. Even though she is sometimes moody and disorganized, I believe that she is a good teacher.

Best teacher ever, took a BC calculus with her and got a 5 on the AP test. Just a warning make sure you do all the work or you wont do so well.

Oh miss Oakes, her tests and quizzes are really hard. I think it's good that she challenges us so much with the tests and quizzes, but compared to being taught like a first grader, it's hard to transi

Ms. Oakes is an unfair irrational teacher who's unfairness can not truly be understood until you've been the victim. She has refused to clarify grades, yells at students, and treats us like were five.

I don't know what to say about her. If you have her for AP calc now and is not one of her pets, then you'll hate her. She kind of picks on kids in class and changes mood every 5 seconds. But then again, she has 4 classes (two of them AP BC calc), and its a lot of work for her, so you can't really blame her entierly. She used to be a lot nicer and helpful last year. this year though, people are basically failing her class, and she had to raise everyone's grade by a letter grade at the end of the 1st term

Go for help one-on-one if you don't understand something. You can spend weeks trying to figure something out in class and on your own, and she'll just explain it to you easily in 5 minutes.

Had her for algebra II. She didn't teach the subject very well to the class, but she was great for one-on-one work and explained things very clearly. A fun, but strange class.
