I am very happy I had the opportunity to know Mr. Romer. You will be missed by the entire Sycamore Community! 01/08/2014
RIP mr romer. we will miss you. 1/8/2014
Mr Romer is a nice guy and all nut can be a bit sarcastic at times. I wouldn't say he was a good teacher mostly because his class is more of do the worksheet, go over in class, turn in, and here's another. He does give some lessons but when he does he uses useless examples that are sometimes irrelevant. Also you can count on him messing up a question or two on a test.
I have him teaching my accel bio class right now, and let me just say, his class sucks. He takes several weeks to grade anything, is awful at helping students with their questions, and generally acts like he doesn't care at all. Everything I've learned in biology this year has been outside of his classroom, usually from some online source I found myself. He's not fit to be a teacher. I would say switch out, but I've heard Palmer isn't any better.
After months of dealing with this difficult man, the class finally cracked. His "teaching" style was to hand us a vocabulary sheet and for us to learn it on our own. Nobody learned anything and once the majority of the class received a D/F on one exam, enough was enough. We had to literally yell at him, lead by two students, on how his lack of instruction set us all up to fail. He shouted fiery comments back to us, too, but thereafter things got better, but not by much. A monkey could do his job
The class basically works in a "read the text and if you don't get it ask, and then I'll teach" manner. He tries to help out, but he uses analogies for everything. If you have a question, ask. This wasn't a problem for me, but a lot of people in my class had a problem with it. He is MUCH better than Palmer.
There are many problems with the Freshman Acc Biol class. The textbook is terrible and not appropriate for a freshman, yet they will not replace it despite numerous complaints. I fault the school administration for allowing the course to be taught as a college class. Mr. Romer is nice to students, however he is often unable to answer their questions. This is a self-taught class. What could have been a wonderful learning experience ends up turning students off to science.
Hated the class. Hated the way he taught it. But Romer is a good guy and very nice
i had him for accel bio, great personality but he doesn't really teach you much. still overall he's one of my favorite teachers
He's a great teacher who is definitely one of my favorites. He's always willing to help students if they ask for it. He also makes class really fun.
Mr. Romer's class is kinda boring, but he is really nice and tries to help you understand something if you are having trouble.
Mr Romer is awesome! He's not the best teacher in the school..but he makes class really fun.
i think hes a good teacher even though a lot of people dont. but accelerated biology is a really hard course and you're not really even supposed to be taught.
Just not a very good teacher. His class was way too hard in the beginning of the year, and when he finally realized this it was almost fourth quarter. He's nice enough, but is mean to those he hates.
he was like my favorite teacher when i was a feshman...too bad we had mr bailey as a student teacher for like half the year. but mr. romer is awesome...i learned a ton in his class
Mr. Romer is the pimpinest teacher ever! I wish I still had him. Yay Mr. Romer!
I really don't like him-his anologies are terrible and sometimes when he starts an example and gets towards the end he proves himself wrong. Shouldn't teach.
