A shame he is no longer teaching because he was a great chemistry teacher.
A capable teacher, which makes his transgressions all the more appalling. His offenses are inexcusable, and I am furious at both him for his foolishness and at myself for not finding out.
Ok. Never had him before, but had peers who had him for Biology and Chemistry. Mr. Farrell, if you read this, just know I think this was an honest mistake you made. This does not make you a bad person despite the bad thing you did. Third, why do you all jump to conclusions?, they haven't proven anything. Maybe the story was exaggerated a bit. Who knows. He has changed his life forever but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get another chance, even if it's not as a teacher
Best teacher I have ever had in my life. I have been trying to process what he did but I would like to believe it was an honest mistake. He did a horrible thing, that doesn't mean he is a horrible person. He has changed my life for the better and I will never forget about him or his class. If you are reading this Mr Farrell you should know that I, along with others still think you are a good person who just made a mistake.
Great teacher, but his career...
I don't have kids that had Ronnie as a teacher nor did I go to PAHS but, I've known Ronnie for 30 years, this news of wrong doing came as a complete shock to all of us who have known him for years & know what he's gone though to get where he was. I hope & pray that this was an isolated case however even if it was he's career is over & that hurts. He loved what he did & it looks like his students loved him. I've only known the Ronnie that's fun loving & kind & chose to remember him that way.
I apriciated Mr. Farrell, he WAS one of the greatest teachers to teach at Paly. He really cared about his students. He make a huge mistake though. I wish Mr. Farrell luck.
Mr. Farrell has been one of the best teachers I have ever had. He cared about all his students and actually enjoyed teaching. He was so passionate about biology. Unfortunately he is no longer teaching :/
I am still in shock to the news. He was my favorite teacher on campus even after my freshman year. I had him for Biology and he recommended me for Chemistry Honors. I truly felt and believed he wanted to help his students learn and cared for them. I know he is a great man, and it is unbelievable to hear this news. If you ever read this Mr. Farrell, I wish you the best of luck to you and your family; thank you for being a great teacher.
I'mbaffledand disappointed.I had Mr. Farrell for chem last year and I loved him,not only did he seem to really care about every single on of us, making an effort to have a personal connection with us, but he also seemed to be truly interested in what he was teaching which made the material seem more interesting/made us more willing to learn it.In fact,I thought he was such a cool dude that at the end of the year a friend and I gave him a hair brush and hair gel as a joke. Still can't beliveit.
I was really shocked and sad by the news. I still can't believe he did that. He was one of the best teachers I had at Paly and he sparked my love and interest for Biology. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well and is also really good at teaching. He makes sure that all of his students understand the material well.
Farrell is the most legit science teacher I've ever had. He actually makes material understandable and memorable but at the same time his stories are A+++++. 10/10 would recommend. No 66 polyatomic ions, just like the diatomic and the main -ates. Lit.
I had Mr Farrell for two years in a row (bio and chem) and I absolutely loved him. He is a great teacher, he really knows his material and really cares about his students. He is by far my favorite teacher at Paly. Mr Farrell is a really nice guy, easy to have conversations with, and overall an amazing teacher. He knows how to engage his students and motivate them all while having a blast. He is always willing to help students and make life and school a lot easier. BEST TEACHER EVER!!!
Great teacher who really cares about his students and will go out of his way to make time for them. He makes class extremely entertaining and is very funny.
Farrell is a strict teacher but is very specific and also funny. I had him for biology and chemistry.
He is a great teacher who makes science very fun.
Mr. Farrell is a good teacher, he makes material very easy to understand by explaining how he remembers the material.
However, there are only 200ish (not including the final) points in his semester, and all of the points are in one category.
This means missing 20 points anywhere in hw, tests, classwork, labs, packets will bring your grade down to a B
He is also very relaxed and funny in class
When Mr. Farrell teaches something, he teaches it well. However, he covers material a little more slowly than some other teachers (such as Loomis). He's cool and fun too.
