I had Plyler for French 3, and I remember really enjoying her class. She was a little scatterbrained, but very kind. She didn't seem to lecture about the material much. Instead, she spoke to us in French for much of the period, which I found to be incredibly immersive and as a result I became very comfortable in French. Easy class if you bother cracking the book open.
I was a good french student going into french 3. My french has gotten worse since last year, a lot of the year is reviewing structures we learned in french 2, but she makes them seem much more confusing than they actually are. The majority of class time is used to do pointless exercises with a partner. Assuming you actually do them, she will give you about 10-15 mins more than the time you actually need, and wonders why kids are goofing off.
She needs to stop teaching french because it's her 3rd language and she has now idea how to speak it. I knew less coming out of her French 3 class than I did going into it. She doesn't teach yet she expects the class to do well on her tests of hell. If you get her, try and reschedule your classes to avoid her. She's bad.
Worst teacher I have had in my life. Doesn't follow the hw policy at all and tried to cheat kids out of points. Doesn't want her students to succeed. Loves to talk about herself. Multiple class periods have been spent hearing about her life. Avoid her class at all costs. She's a terrible teacher.
She is a terrible teacher. She doesn't teach you anything and if she does, she crams the lesson during the last 5 minutes of class. During the rest of the period she is talking about her personal life. She doesn't follow the homework policy at all, and she expects us to know the material even though she doesn't teach anything.
She is nice but stupid. She is funny and has good stories but she is a terrible teacher. She should not be teaching her second language in her third language
You either like her or hate her - there's no in between. I like her, but that's because I have traveled abroad and can understand her through her heavy accent. Does notes 100% in spanish and doesn't know that most people can't understand her, so most of the students don't really learn the material. Survive by speaking in spanish (even if it's lousy) and always doing the homework (even if you're just BS'ing it)
I don't think I've ever actually learned anything from her. She doesn't grasp that we are not fluent in spanish so most of the class we just ignore her. Not that she does very much teaching anyways.... I think after two years, I know every story that has ever happened to her.
Mrs. Plyler almost never explains anything, and even when she tries it is not understandable because she speaks in a combination of french, spainish, and broken english. She never gives any explainations for grades, even if you ask. If you get her, move to Ohio.
She was my french teacher and I took her class on my junior year and senior year at Los Gatos High School.
Annoying woman who speaks in broken English. She frequently switchs between French and Spanish. Learned nothing and got screwed because she never grades anything.
She's a really nice woman, but not particularly organized.
Doesn't want to do her job. Thinks that anyone who needs help should transfer back to French 1 and get out of her class. Awful.
Better than many Spanish teachers at this school, but that's not saying much. Unreasonable at times, but actually does teach things (or at least force you to learn them).
Plyler is very confusing...I don't quite understand her. She is possibly the worst teacher I've ever had..others agree.
She demands a lot, but if you do the work you learn sooo much. Merci beaucoup, Madame!
Has major emotional problems. Crying in class on more than one occasion. Is not focused on her students.
she does NOT teach. she might as well quit teaching...actually, she never started teaching in the first place
Liked her, but really had to get to know first. Ask about her skiing trip with the teenage boys hitting her.
Mme. Plyler is tough but thorough; she was the best language teacher I had at LG
Told me I was worthless and going nowhere in life. Turns out, not true.
