She's a decent teacher for Japanese 1 but not great for Japanese 3. J1 is ok as long as you work hard and study but J3 was a nightmare. Homework turned in only a few minutes late in J3 receives half credit and if you're absent, you can't turn in your homework at all. Some of the stuff on her tests wasn't even taught in class and she goes over new concepts too quickly to absorb
Tanaka Sensei is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. First of all, she is a native of Japan so she know what she's talking about. Second, I know a lot of people have trouble in Japanese, but as long as you work hard, you should be able to pass easily. In my experience, she is tough but fair. I really think I learned a lot in her class. She even helped me go on an exchange trip to Japan! Tanaka Sensei doesn't play favorites; she just helps those who obviously care and want to learn.
Tanaka sensei is the best teacher I've ever had. Her class is the only class that I can embrace who I am - a Japanese and a lover of Japanese culture. The way she teaches motivates me to always try my hardest and I don't study for any of my other classes except this one because I actually enjoy studying for this class.
Tanaka Sensei was a good teacher. Although I had some friends that didn't do well in her class, I would say that her class was fairly easy to me. I would assume that it was really easy for me since I am really passionate about learning other languages, but I knowsome other people (*cough cough* weeaboos) who really wanted to learn Japanese but didn't do so well. I wish there was an accelerater Jap. 1 tho because the course was really slow for me. I always finished first and the class was easy.
Graduated a couple years ago. Took a semester Japanese class in college and everything she drilled in to my brain stuck like glue and worked like magic. She honestly teaches in the simplest way for foreigners to understand. It's up to the students to do homework and participate. I agree about the favorites, but stick it out and lay low. You'll never find another class where you get credit for singing JPop songs :P . Overall, an absolute blast! Do yourself a favor and put some effort in.
she picks favorites, embarrasses you in front of the class when you get something wrong and gives you a mean look when she doesnt like you
At first glance, she looks nice, but the truth is she's intimidating. She goes quick quick quick in her lessons. I've repeatedly found it hard to ask her for help on anything.. It's really obvious she
She's a great teacher over all who knows when to be strict and when to be fun. Class work may seem like an overload but doing it really helps you improve your Japanese. If you want an easy A and not
Tanaka Sensei is awesome! Her class is easy if you are willing to work hard and show that you like learning Japanese. She is really nice and understanding too!
i absolutely love her. she's my favorite teacher by far, because if you work hard you can always get an A
She's good, the only problem is she is from another culture so she thinks differently.Class is fun and friendly compares to other classes. the only problem is the half credit.that fails alot of people
She's a really great teacher. But you have to show that you want to learn Japanese by working hard and study!
Not bad, not great. class is fun and we all have our laughs. she has a tendency to pick favorites out of everyone and half-credit system sucks. but just study, do your hw, and you'll be fine
This teacher is not what you call the best you can easily see that she favorite some students ridculous amounts of classwork teaches like 1 day and leaves the class to learn on there own
Some people might think she's horrible, but they either had a bad grade, or didn't have the willingness to learn. I learned a lot because she's a good teacher. I liked the classes. Just study!
She gives a lot of work, but it helps you memorize everything. The half-credit system is a pain, but bust make sure you go over your classwork for any mistakes before turning it in.
Even though her class was very difficult in the beginning, she really teaches you the material. It may seem fast-paced, but you learn a lot. You just need to study, listen and try your best.
I love Tanaka-sensei. Her half-credit system might be a pain, but I think it's to help you check your work more.
tanaka sensei is a prtty cool teachr. dnt knw wht u guyz r tlkin bout. if u do the freakn hmwk, she likes u. just try 2 learn. i admt, the 1/2 crdit systm sux, but thts jst the way she runs things....
ugh, your class was terrible! good luck to anyone in your classes, they'll need it.
she doesn't really teach... just follows the textbook. i hate her half-credit methods, but i enjoyed her class because i made SO many friends (since everyone would copy & ask for answers :p)
shes a good teacher when you are a good student....i dont like the her half-credit system. every1 should get full credit for at least doing it...but i like her.strict but effective...shes always happy
Yes, her class is hard, but you learn a lot. Even though shes very strict, she just follows the rules. The top students soar, while the bottom students drop. She should try to balance things out.
She may not be the best teacher around but she's not that bad. She's pretty nice to me whenever I have questions to ask her.
I liked this teacher my first year, but I have to say that she does change the second year. She assigns classwork minutes before class and she doesn't know how to manage her time.
She is nice, helpful, and has a great attitude. She needs to announce the homework (kanji) and not give us classwork five minutes before the end of class.
Ms. Tanaka is one of my favorite teachers, she just has a great attitude and is very helpful. Very fun class :)
ok, yes, she is strict but i think she honestly does care for the students and wants them to understand japanese. she's hard but she's also misunderstood.
She always talks about stupid stuff. And she makes stupid worksheets. She just give us works and don't teach.
SHe's teaching much better. Her quizzes are fun and her overall attitude is great!
There really isn't much teaching involved besides handing out tons of class work on a daily basis. Nicer than she was 2 years ago.
her classes were fun. but very hard. she is a cool person but the class is very difficult. i think japanese in general is hard so that could be why.
not that very good. and way too much homework. cool teacher tho
