Like everyone says, you have to get on her good side. She probably won't help you with writing, but she does help with grammar and stuff and is really patient with people asking questions. If she likes you, you will like her class and it will be easy. Shes really funny in a complaining and grouchy sort of way. Shes intimidating but actually a nice person. She won't hesitate to give you a 0 on a paper though for not putting attribution for a quote which makes a lot of people mad.

I think one of the reasons she has such a low rating is that she teaches freshman. She is strict, so people remember her negatively. But she's a great teacher and teaches great writing skills.

I really enjoy her class for her 'get to the point personality'.Shes a bit intimidating so kids dont ask Qs as much. Her class has a strange overly laid back vibe to it though.FOLLOW DIRECTIONS OR FAIL

Mrs. McGlocklin was probably the oddest teacher I ever had in all of high school, but for some reason I liked her alot more after I wasn't in her class anymore. Not the best teacher, but an interesting experience nonetheless

She is a very mean teacher! I agree that she gets impatient when students ask questions, especially if it's something they've never learned. Don't want another her in college!

She was always choosing favorites, and she'd tell one period something and none of the others until the day before the assignment was due

I never developed a strong student-teacher relationship with her. I only had her for one semester, but she seemed to pick favorites among her students.

I had her for Honors English as a freshman. She's unclear in her directions, unhelpful if you have questions, and plays favorites. If you get her, transfer out.

She isn't the worst teacher, but I think she's too concerned with the rules, and making sure you follow MLA format exactly, which isn't very cool.

Mrs. McGlocklin is an ok teacher. She is intersting, though. Like, sometimes she tells us the instructions once and only once and she is absent a lot.
