Mr. Satalino is a very knowledgeable person. However, he is extremely brief covering the material. He expects you to know everything and understand everything on your own. This is not fair. He doesn't take the time to go step by step which really helps a person understand mathematics. When people are getting 2-4-6/10s on quizzes, obviously something is wrong. I think he can definitely work on his clarity and difficulty level. The class can be extremely tense, frustrating, and difficult.
Mr. Satalino's class is a fantastic experience. To begin with, he is hilarious. He adds jokes along with the lesson and discussion. However, you need to read ahead and be prepared for a quiz each class. Again, you will not be spoon fed and you need to study some on your own. His tests and quizzes are hard, however if you invest like 30 mins studying/analyzing the math along with doing the homework you will be fine.
Mr. Satalino is an interesting experience. He's got very firm beliefs in how a class should be taught, "Not spoon-fed information", and enforces this with high expectations. He expects students to act as "young adults" and learn the material themselves and discuss during class. As a result, he doesn't often explicitly go over things in class that were done for homework, rather he goes over ideas that will come later on. He's very knowledgeable and maintains distance while still very entertaining
I had Mr Satalino as a teacher during my junior year at CSW, which was in 2001. He was such an influential teacher that 15 years later I looked him up and as part of that search stumbled across this site. Mr Satalino is a person who is passionate about what he does, and he cares deeply about his students.
He is really difficult and gives a lot of pop quizzes but he is an excellent teacher in my opinion. You need to study every night though. Don't listen to all the negative reviews.
He's a great guy and is hilarious in class. Not that best at teaching and the tests and quizzes are hard, but i have definitely had worse teachers. As long as you do the basic stuff that he asks then you are usually alright
If you study and come prepared to class you have nothing to worry about. Mr. Satalino has a unique way of teaching, but he's not impossible and he recognizes good work.
Dreading having APcalc with him this year, but i came to like his style. He expects certain things of us and if you do those things the class is enjoyable and interesting... other than the pop quizzes
Throughout the year, I have learned everything about my math class online. With no help from him. Mind you, this is an AP class I am talking about. He isn't much of a teacher, but he yells at us a lot
I learned more about life then i did about Math. Great teacher to have as a frosh.
he has a nice class. just needs to clarify some more on topics.
DANG HIS CLASS IS HARD but he's funny and a good guy.
I had him for Math 2. He was very hard and didn't really teach anything and just showed off with little known math facts and his own life story. You mainly learn from others in your group.
He's not as tough as everyone claims he is, and is actually quite nice if you're not on his bad side. However, he gives very few grades and only covers material in a perfunctory manner. GPA = dead.
I never agreed with his style of teaching, but he always pushed his students to succeed.
not a great math teacher. like other people have said would prob suit another class better, his stories are outrageous and hes really arrogant. hes a nice guy out of class.. sorta.. but prob the worst teacher ive ever had.. didnt learn anything and i really struggle with math so it was a real tough year
He's ok. Somewhere in the middle. I don't like his personality all that much, seems a bit too arrogant for my liking. But I have to admit some of his stories are rather interesting. As for the class, I'd say its in the middle too. It's not impossible, although some of his expectations are beyond others. Overall I'd say he's a pretty good teacher but he'd probably be better teaching something other than math.
I had him for AP calc, and he did a very good jon of preparing me for the test. Good at what he does, just tough. Definately a teach I'll remember.
The most interesting personality at the school. Very proper and sophisticated. Odd yet effective teaching methods. Good if you want to learn, bad if you don't.
i like him alot he is really funny and fun ot listen to, but he definately isnt the easiest teacher in the world. He makes you work and learn something!
he talks about himself the entire class then gives you a pop quiz on stuff he barely mentioned, which everyone fails, then makes up your grade.i learned nothing
Funny guy. Makes Math II a fun class, and explains it well too. In the short time he spends teaching, you learn more than from others in a full lesson.
I love his class! You probably wont get an "A" but oh well. He's funny and his class is always interesting.
Mr. Satalino is an excellent teacher. He's funny, and he's good at what he does. He's a tad full of himself, though.
You'll learn a lot, but you won't get an A. It's worth it, though, if you have a terrible teacher the year after.
He will tell alot of stories not related to the subject, but that will get you out of doing the work!!!! He cares about his students.
Interesting fellow. Likes his cars a little too much.
He needs to spend more time teaching and explainig and less time bragging about his success
Not easy class but will help all problems. makes class fun being funny.spend a lot of time on stories not related to topic
Funny guy, makes going to class worthwhile. Difficult teacher though...
