I had him for chemistry before he left for Michigan. If you do the work, it was an easy A. He has packets for us and keeps us on schedule and we do fun labs. He can get angry sometimes but he's a fun teacher.

i'll miss mr.rooney when he leaves for michigan :( he's a great teacher and he actually helps you after school if you don't understand. I love that he knows students would want extra credit to boost their grade up at the end of the semester and actually gives us extra credit for us to do after school. he can be harsh sometimes and i think he expects a little too much for my class but he's a great teacher regardless.

Awesome teacher maybe just needs to be a little more understand love the accent though. There's pretty complicated stuff in the class but the only way you fail is by not listening to him, and for all you who say he does explain stuff ask him too you morons Im sure he WILL explain it.

it is because of him that i almost failed chem, not to mention buried my dream of getting into a decent uni...nuff said, he just had us do the damn worksheets, and rarely explained everything in class. huh, and he wondered why half the class was failing?!?!

Mr. Rooney is great. Students only underappreciate him if they don't understand his sense of humor. He's a terrific teacher and is determined to help his students be successful. He grades extremely fairly and is serious about his job. Students just need to show him they care about his class. He'll never turn down a serious question and he'll never deny you help when you need it. He also sponsors Science Club and Peer Jury, which are pretty awesome.

Roonayyy! Haha he is so cool. I hear he makes fun of some people (not in a joking way) and it gets out of hand to the point where they despise him. He never was mean to me or anybody really, in my class. He sincerely likes to help students get the most out of his class and I appreciate his help. I reccommend going to tutoring though, since he has it almost every day after school and you'll need it soon enough into the class...unless you pay attention really well.

Mr. Rooney is a great teacher. Hands down my favourite out of every teacher I've every had except maybe my grade 1 teacher. He explains things well, gives EC for EVERYTHING and always is joking around when appropriate. He can be harsh at times but that's only because the people he yells at arent paying enough attention to what he is teaching so they don't understand and get upset. He has tutoring after school every day but thursday. USE IT IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!! IT HELPS!

"LAX GOD" Really? I thought you guys lost every game... haha. My grade is average in his class... and people are below the "red line" because they're not doing their work. They're really not. I know what I'm talking about, I'm one of those. People need to stop looking for scapegoats!

I have been lucky enough to have Mr. Rooney for this past year, hes a hardworking man who really cares about his students and doing his job, the thing that makes Mr.Rooney so special is that he looks at his students almost through the eyes of a coach seeing the students weakness's and working to fix these weakness's and make you not only a better student but an athlete, Mr.Rooney saw that I was a very impacient and angry young man and channelled that into a strong student and competitor im glad to know him.

mr rooney is a good teacher....he makes thhe material very understandable in class however when it comes to quizzes everything seems differnt than what we have been going over in class. And his grading is really hard.....u can ace your labs and turn in all your work and go to all the LAX games in the world...but once u fail the quiz, all that is erased!! I dont think quizzes should alter your grade so drastically....other than that i love rooney and his teaching style...he makes class enjoyable :D

I've perpetually had a C in Chemistry all year. The work is hard, and it reflects in the average grades of my class. Sometimes he'll help students with particular issues they're having, but for the most part he leaves them behind.

i love mr. rooney as a person, but at some point he has to realize that when the majority of his students are below the red line, "you didn't go to tutoring" isn't a good enough excuse. he is too stubborn to admit that it's his fault, and so our grades and futures have to suffer? lame.

sure he's funny and all, but he's intimidating for a lot of students. more than half of some of his classes are failing and some of us are actually trying. excuse us for not being a genius like those in the top 10 or less, but this class is hard and absolutely pointless, but thats not stopping us from trying, we just dont grasp chem and maybe the teachers methods could be affecting the way we learn.
