He lectures a lot, usually for most of the class, but he makes most of the concepts very easy to understand. He's also very fair when it comes to grading classwork, and also doesn't give homework often (granted, when he does it's a whole packet). Plus his tie game is on point almost every single day.
Over the years it has become apparent Mr. Dotts has cared less and less for his job. He will not help you and is extremely condescending when answering a question no matter who you are. It is extremely difficult to approach him.
Dotts approached my AP Chemistry course as he should have; he treated it as though it was a College course. He lectured the material and did so very thoroughly. He's incredibly knowledgeable on the curriculum. His only real rule is that in order for him to respect you, you have to take his class seriously. If you come to him after class for help, you get instant brownie-points. Any bad comments on his teaching style below are the result of a silver spoon-fed class that I spent 3 years with.
Dotts is a great teacher, he's more than willing to meet students halfway if they show initiative. I had him for 2 years and excelled in his class, he's smart and knows a lot about chemistry. His personality can come off as smug and unhelpful but that doesn't reflect him at all.
Por que Dotts es el villano de Cambridge? Cada persona en la clase de Cambridge tiene un mal nota en chemistry. Pero, es no le importa a Maestro Dotts.
He thinks he is cool but he isn't. He also talks down to students and makes them feel dumb.
His teaching is a little difficult to understand at first but once you understand what he's teaching, it's 100% clear and easy.
Dotts is a great teacher who will go to great lengths to help you understand the material; however, he overcomplicates the material. also when you ask him questions, he acts like you're stupid.
Nice guy, but doesn't fully explain information when teaching and tends go around the anwser when questions are asked.
best chem teacher in the school, a bit pushy, but he's your best bet if you actually want to learn chem
Dude Mr. Dotts is freakin awesome he's a really nice guy.

I hope he gets AP instead of Sokol, I might even take it then. I learned a lot in his class, and he's cool.
Dotts is pretty good, he's the best for chem, you will pass if you show up, pay attention, and do some work. I got a B but worked for it.
Dotts is OK, his class is not too hard if you pay attention. He gets sidetracked sometimes, but helps if you need it.
Mr. Dotts is a good teacher and if you need help he will be there for you.
he cool and pretty easy all u really have to do is pay attention and u will understand u can change the subject really quick though
Lame jokes, but he's OK. I did learn chemistry though...
I think your awesome and you are very helpful. You do crack lame jokes but their meant to be stupid, so keep it up.
dotts is a great teacher. he's always there if you need any help and he cracks jokes...awesome.
If you took the time to ask Mr. Dotts for help he would definitly be there for you until you got it!
Although you wont like his class and will likely sleep a lot, or try not to, it will help you in the future (academic).
operation man, rude, thinks he's cool , wants to work at the paper mill again
