a good teacher can teach the smartest kids, the weakest kids, and everyone in between. ms wong can only teach the kids in the middle. she refuses to answer questions that are too simple and says "that's obvious, moving on." she refuses to answer questions that are too advanced and says "that's irrelevant, moving on". she doesn't even say "ask me after class." i don't think she even likes teaching.
Ms. Wong spends 80% of the class time lecturing about note-taking and grading notes. That would be fine in a class about note-taking/organization. But she is supposed to be teaching MATH. We get it, notes are important in college, but SO IS MATH. I transferred out of her class, and I am now learning math EVERY DAY (in my math class). And fyi, my notes never got any better in Ms. Wong's class. She insists that notes come verbatim from textbooks without any rephrasing. I dont learn that way
She pays very close attention to the details of all assignments and is very hard to pass without honestly trying. But her strict ways have helped me overall learn better.
She can be funny but she cannot teach and gives too much homework. But the tests are easy compared to the homework.
the projects.. rediculous, the homework.. insane, she openly makes fun of students, she is not clear on what she wants and if you dont have it you get points off, points are taken off all the time!!
The only teacher I've had that I hated. She openly criticizes students, has overly pointless and time consuming projects, and teaches by only doing example problems
Way too picky, uses projects to fulfill her own personal interests, I learned a lot, but she was entirely too uptight about everything.
Hard classes, strict teacher. She never explains her projects well and expects you to know everything. Does annoying things like film the classes and makes you sing songs.
Good teacher, sure she is tough, but she prepares you well for calculus. I found her extremely structured class to be rather refreshing, and found that if you studied, you did well.
I am not a fan of hers. She has a way of picking on people and embarassing them in front of the class. Homework load is impossible (she expects HPC to be our life) and projects are way off-topic.
Tough class (Honors Precalc) with a lot of homework. Makes class more personal when she calls parents to say how well their son/daughter is doing. Prepared me well for AP Calc BC.
Taught me alot! VERY tough class, but she pushed me just hard enough. Very sweet lady, but very strict teacher
Although she is a difficult teacher, and I found the projects off tangent, she overall prepares you well for college. She is willing to help you after class whenever you need it.
Her projects are mostly unrelated to math and are just an excuse to glorify her love of Japan.
Her projects have conflicting criteria, and she doesn't always explain them well. A nice lady outside of class but terribly difficult teacher.
An extremely hard and demanding class, however if you give it your best it will pay off. Ms wong is fair and she has become one of my favorite teachers throughout high school.
Ms. Wong may be difficult and strict, but her class gave me a good idea of what college would be like and she was one of the best teachers at this high school.
Impatient with students and often makes personal attacks. Hard to get help from. Often unpleasant and likes to put kids on the spot. I didn't learn ANYTHING
I wouldn't have passed if I hadn't come 1hr early every day.
Tough subjects, lots of fun, learned more from her than all the others combined!
