Doc has changed my life in many ways. He is a hard teacher, but i promise that if you focus and actually listen to him, then you will be amazed of what you can learn not just in literature, but also in yourself. I am so thankful that i haven't given up in his class even though sometimes i want to. Although i am not one of his favorite students, he sure is my favorite teacher.
Awesomestt teacher in da world -punk
He's aight. Really knowledgeable but can sometimes give off a "know-it-all" vibe. Very understanding. Looks like he could own a golden retriever named "Ol Yeller"
Just as the person below, this guy literally changed my life. Not only was he the most brilliant teacher ever, but he completely changed me as a person. No other teacher took the time to get to know his students as Doc did... I cannot wait to visit "the hood of funk" again.
This guy changed my life, and introduced me to authors I read to this day (10 years later) and is an unstoppable force of education. To current students of Doc :
The class gets so much easier when you take the time to READ what you're supposed to read, not just the cliff's notes.
Don't be afraid to voice your opinion about the text. He wants to hear what you have to say, and why. Especially the "why".
Listen to what he tells you to do. He will give you all the tools you need if you LISTEN.
The man was a complete genius when I took his class. Almost ten years later I still remember the poems he had us memorize and the jingles he used to help us remember stuff. This is what a teacher looks like, folks.
Well, there is nothing I can say on here that I couldn't say in life.
a true gem in the teaching world....he is a gift to lawton.
Doctor Freeman is quite possibly the best teacher that I've ever had! He pushes me to be a better writer and in the last year and a half I've gotten much better
I love Freeman. I can't believe all you guys are bashing him. You all must be the poor rejected students who are too busy to learn about beautiful language.
