The homework must must must be what he says and what he says alone, if you paraphrase or use different words to say the same thing he will throw question marks followed by his version. Wants to assert himself in class. Injects his political opinions every chance he gets. "you know" "but really"
Scary guy, terrible hw policy (one group member does the work and the three others copy the night before it's due since he randomly collects one assignment per group). Seriously, just self-study APUSH or wait until college.
He knows his stuff, and I enjoyed his lectures. I had him for APUSH and AP Psychology. It's funny because he sometimes gives life lessons, but when he says "you guys need to do X Y and Z", he's directly addressing the super-intelligent Asian students. If you're Mexican or some other descent, just keep your head down and power through his class.
He's not exactly the easiest teacher and his workload is both long and difficult - the summer homework takes a lot of time to complete. However, his lectures are pretty helpful (APUSH) and I did learn a lot from his class. Mr. Luong is a chill teacher although he does try to intimidate his students in a way.
If you like self studying, you should take his AP Psych class.
I dont like the way he throws papers at people... literally. Its disrespectful. He has a bad temper, but is unbelievably forgiving towards his favorites. I learned a lot from taking his ap psych class but I would not choose to have him as a teacher!
very difficult tests. ap psychology class is useless and very boring. unclear with lectures. doesn't follow the textbook to lecture. basically you're studying on your own for his tests. i can study at home by myself . he has attitude and mood swings.
He shows favoritism and has sick mood swings. He's constantly screaming during his lectures when he honestly doesn't need to yell to be heard. He's a good teacher but his tests are insanely hard.
Pretty cool, but his jokes are painful to listen to...
not easy at all. hardest class, like ever. but he has to be my fav teacher ^.^
i enjoyed his style of teaching.he held many discussions in class.he never lectured because he expected us to read the book at home.he, instead, raised ?s
Extremely hard teacher, but he knows his information well. He's helpful, if you're not scared to ask. Hardworking teacher too. He'll tell you what you're doing wrong.
Definitely one of the better teachers at Mark Keppel High School. However, not an easy A class. I've had him for psych and world history honors. He makes you do a lot of critical thinking.
Mr.Luong is hands down the best teacher that ive had in high school. I had him for U.S history last year and his class was really hard but hes a really passionate and dedicated teacher.
Took him for Psych, he was a great teacher. He answers questions whenever I ask him and made sure I understood the concepts. Not an easy A, for sure, but a really cool guy.
HIS TESTS ARE TOO NUANCED, IF YOU DON'T LIKE READING CAREFULLY, YOU'LL STILL EASILY PASS THE AP BUT NOT HIS TESTS. HE IS RATHER HARSH WITH KIDS EVEN THOUGH HE CAN BE NICE. HE HAS HIS BIASES TOO.
Yeah, his classes are pretty hard but cool. some favoritism.
Kind of favorites girls sometimes. But none the less, he knows his stuff and is very informative if you give him a little attention. Guys CAN get on his good side, just be funny, but inferior.
If you want a good grade, then you should immediately get on his good side...
Talk to him, that will help you, because he likes it when he can interact with his students. Also, participate, you'll be surprised how much you learn by participating.
Gotta be one of his buddies to succeed in class. Funny guy, but he is biased towards people who participates more. He knows his stuff and he can intimidate people with his look.
i thought he was a pretty good teacher, but he was the only history i ever had. he knows his material well. he's a little weird, but he doesn't care what his students think of him.
hahah the trick to this guy is to become one of his favorites. talk to him about all them posters on his wall. he's such a fanboy.
I personally do not like Mr. Luong. He makes History boring and is very biased and plays favoritism with grades and all. He is far from being the epitome of a good teacher.
mr. luong scares me! though he's cool, he tries to hard to be like on of us. what's with the pencil always on top of his ear...
Mr. Luong's pretty cool; his lectures sure helped me. Funny guy, and he tries to make class interesting and fun.
His lectures do help. Kids that complain he has favorites are kids that should study harder. THey say its independent study, but how do you favor multiplechoic?
Mr. Luong is a very good teacher. A little odd sometimes though. I just can't stand his art projects.
is too biased, expects too much out of students, shows way too much favoritism, overall bad teacher =(
He should't play favoritism and he shouldn't try to relieve his high school days through us. He's a hard working teacher, but stop going to student practices.
hard teacher but is very hardworking... spends a lot of time at school
As much as I hate this man's guts, he's a good teacher.
I think he's overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated... seriously, how many other teachers work as much as he? =)
