Ms. LeDang is the reason I love Latin. If you get to know her on a personal level, she is truly an amazing person. She is a great teacher, hard working, and dedicated to her students. She's so funny and nice. I love her!
A really awesome teacher, if you put in the effort. Though she *very clearly* utterly loathes her students, this doesn't mean that she doesn't do a bad job. Her lessons are informative, she emails all work and notes directly to you (Her notes are very useful, too). She does assign a lot of homework, but it still doesn't take longer than 40 minutes to complete it. She does give hard tests, but correcting them can up your score- and she provides tutoring.
she may seem to be playing favorites, but she'll tell you, she hates you all equally. her tests are difficult if you don't work hard, but if you really try, study, and do all of your homework, you'll do great. she's tough, but she's also really helpful if you ask. also, always do translations, test corrections, and don't use ritchie's.
She is a hard teacher, but not mean when you get to know her. If she goes fast for you, she does after school help. You can do test corrections. Tests are hard, but STUDY! You'll be fine! You'll learn a lot with her. Do not copy translations online! She is very clear and wants us to do well. Also, the Asian girl favoritism isn't completely true. If you get an A and answer questions, that doesn't matter. She tells funny stories but puts people struggling on the spot. Also, lots of POP QUIZZES!!
She's a great teacher, seriously. I had Mr.Smith for latin the year before, so obviously I learned nothing, but I know so much now after her class. You might not get an A, if you aren't a short asian girl, but you will learn a lot.
had her for 8th grade and she was one of my favorite teachers, very clear, offers test corrections and extra credit, after school tutoring, very knowledgeable, tests werent too hard unless you hadnt studied, she does pick favorites though, especially if you get 100s on her tets (she loved this girl who got 100s a bunch of times) this may impact your project grade but it never affected mine, overall great teacher and person
I think she's ok. I have currently have her (2015) and she takes favorites like crazy and that will definitely impact your project grades. For incoming 8th graders, please please please for your sake raise your hand a lot in the beginning months so that she will like you. Gives incredibly hard tests. Pop quiz almost once per week. Make use of her tutoring afterschool if you need it.
Ms.Ledang is currently my latin teacher for 8th grade, and honestly she is one of my best teachers. She explains everything perfectly and helped my grade in late go from a b- in 7th grade to an A+. We rarely use our textbooks in class, just for homework translating. But her tests aren't the ones where you can pass by looking at your notes once! You need to work hard in her class, and then she will love you and always call on you for answers! :)
ms Ledang isn't as bad as everyone thinks she is, but make sure to do all your homework and study for her tests! And also take advantage of her EC opportunities. Although she REALLY likes short asian girls who are good in latin, do all the work and ull be fine. And also if ur the selected few she likes, she'll force you to promise her to take prose and AP (if u had her in 8th grade).
to future students:
pay attention in her class!! do her work!! study!! and you'll have no problem. ms ledang is an by far the best TEACHER i've ever had. she actually helped me so much with latin and she really isnt as bad as everyone says. She is strict and wants everything organized but thats a helpful thing. she helped me stay organized all year. Her tests are very hard though, and she does choose favorites but overall i honestly love her.
Ok yeah she's wicked hard but she's actually a good teacher. She also embarrases people, plays favorites, and picks on people but she mostly does it to make sure that you learn the topic
Ms LeDang isn't as bad as everyone thinks, she does clearly pick favorites, but she'll like you if you're not extremely obnoxious and rude. I was so bad at Latin yet she really caught me up. She's mean and harsh but, she is an excellent teache
Definitely not easy, but I chose to take AP and the course itself is suppose to be hard. Very helpful and willing to explain. Goes into great detail to clarify. Great teacher!
if you have a question about latin. dont hesitate. AT ALL. she's more than willing to help students out. stay on top of your work at all times and it'll be a good class.
She's one of the top five best teachers I've had, ever. She's a hard teacher, but I'm actually interested in Latin with her.
a good and funny teacher. all you need. take her class, you'll learn a bunch of latin and you may even find yourself enjoying it.
Very mean and talks about kids who aren't there, literally saying who annoys her and she's told a kid before that she was much happier when he was absent. But I love latin so shes nice to me.
Focuses only on translations and barely teaches anything. Gives loads of hard pop quizzes on the most obscure things. Refuses to ever scale, and blames us for doing bad. Ha! No way.
She gives alot of Homework. But in class she is really funny. She is probably one of the best teachers I have had so far. =]
Very good, competent teacher, if you put in the effort. if not, you should still be able to get by, overall a wonderful teacher.
i LOVE her! when i had her for 8th grade she was so nice and such a great teacher! lol and anyone who hates only does cuz they are annoying and annoys her my class never did :P
i LOVE ms ledang... she's only mean to the 8th graders because they are annoying and who would ever want to teach them? for her older classes she is so cool... and so adorable!!!!
Ledang for AP is like this: do the homework and you'll be fine. Love the class. ^_^
had a blast in her class. pretty hard, but learned a lot. put in the time/work-->good grades. level of fun depends on ur class. i got D's and C's, but was fun.
Had her for homeroom for two years. Never took any of her classes, but she was extremely cool in homeroom.
youre so used to teaching 11th graders that you forget were only in 8th..expecting us to remember is ea id hic haec hoc and all that other stuff in one night?
Very smart and kind teacher. I'm so glad to have her as my teacher! One of the best Latin has to offer
She's nice, but she's not really very helpful to her struggling students.
very strict for such a small person, but shes a nice woman
