RIP Faulkner was the best class I ever took
Best memories of school include him. His class was a cure for ennui. He was the last person I said good bye to when I got kicked out. Bro was lucky enough to be a big part of his and his daughters life. You will never be forgotten. I loved him.
I had the privilege of having him for Freshman English in 1989 and Science Fiction my Senior year 1993. He was by far the most entertaining and enthusiastic English/Writing teacher in all my years of schooling. He always challenged us to be better while making us laugh and learn. If I had to go back to school and take any class over again it would surely be one taught by him. You are loved and missed by many. Rest in peace.
Rest in peace, you will be missed.
The world lost a legend today. TA was absolutely amazing as a science fiction teacher and just such a human being to be around. God love you and rest in peace, TA.
He was by far my favorite teacher at bellarmine. He made me want to go to school each day. He made my days fun. The dune trial was my favorite part of my bellarmine experience. i'm going to miss you.
Mr. Tom Alessandri. The Man, the Myth, the Legend. I daresay that his Faulkner Honors class was one of the single most difficult classes that I've ever taken, and as someone who has taken honors english every year since middle school, that should tell you something. Not for the faint of heart, but he will change the way you view life. Nuff Said
Perhaps the best teacher at Bellarmine! Had him for both Science Fiction and AP English
He is basically every Bellarmine student's grandpa.
Best teacher I've ever had. He's hilarious, genuinely loves what he does, and knows everything about the subject he is teaching. He is also a very fair grader. You are lucky if you get him as a teacher.
The only thing he loves more than cats in presentations are eyeballs.
This man is a legend, sad I had him for one year and he's leaving next year but yeah he's dope.
He is Beautiful.
Oh my goodness. He is an ideal teacher. If all teachers were like him, then America wouldn't have such a problem in the academic field. He truly teaches students, and I am always looking forward to his class. His class helped me on the SAT, and I am very knowledgeable about English.
This man made English enjoyable, relative and easy. One of the essential teachers that makes Bellarmine the great school that it is. Even if you don't have a class with the legend, make an effort to meet him you will not regret it.
Amazing. I found myself doing more work than needed, I was excited for his class, I was excited for homework just to see what would be next. Absolute must-take at Bell. If you don't take Science Fiction as a Senior, you've wasted your year. Be sure to email him that you want to take his class in order to get in! And you'll only get out of it what you put in, participate in lectures, be a witness in the Dune Trial and go all out!
I am a former Bellarmine student attending a top ten university in the country. Mr. Alessandri is better then the English teachers who teach me now.
best teacher. really really smart guy and funny as heck. doesn't assign dumb busy work like most teachers do. take his class
Great teacher makes the Bellarmine experience complete by taking his science fiction class and by reading Dune. Take his class you wont regret the decision.
TA is the best teacher in existence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all his classes are awesome
Alessandri is a complete and utter boss at everything he does in class. He is a literary God and his teachings equal that of a Messiah. He is so chill and extremely funny in his classes. I love this class more than any other ever.
There is no other teacher in my life who affected me the way TA did. 1985, hanging out the door of the classroom, cig in his hand, sweating profusely, somehow miraculously getting a bunch of 15 year olds excited about "The Great Gatsby." I was just telling my son what a fantastic teacher he was, which it what prompted me to look him up. Like another comment said--worth the entire price of admission if you can have TA!
TA is the best teacher at bell. i would gladly pay all the tuition for four years just to take his class.
you'd be lucky to find another teacher in the world half as good as this guy. i'd give him 6 if i could.
no idea why easiness is 2.9. his class is as easy as it should be: if you do what's required, you'll get an a. he's very fair and the best teacher i've ever had, hands down.
Best teacher I have ever had. Extremely laid back class, not over difficult but you still learn A LOT. Highly intelligent and very, very funny guy.
blows my mind every single day. I still have a headache from Brazil. He is either the best or second best teacher at Bellarmine. The only competition in my opinion is McCrystal. btw, if you're in SF, and someone brings their girlfriend: watch her face. It's gonna be the funniest thing ever.
Awesome teacher. Had him for SF. the best class EVER. If u read and work hard u'll get B to A. DUNE TRIAL FTW!
Had him for both Faulkner and SF. Both my favorite classes taught by my favorite teacher. He expresses a genuine care for each one of his students from day 1 which I had never experienced before. You have to take TA before you graduate.
An amazing teacher. There are very few teachers who really love to teach and TA is one of them. I am going to look back and say that I learnt a lot from his class.
TA is amazing. Science Fiction is by far the best class i've had at Bellarmine and the Dune trial was one of the most prominent highlights of my Bellarmine career. He is also an amazing director who loves his students. I don't think I've ever met somebody who doesn't truely admire the man as a teacher or a mentor
TA is without question the best teacher at Bell. He actually dissects the CONTENT of your papers, in addition to finding the grammar errors. His lectures and leading of class discussions are extraordinary. Finally, his passion for students shows 100% of the time.
I wanted to take his class but he only lets in students he already knows.
Best teacher Bellarmine has. He does have amazing lectures and insights. You can still get a very good grade if you just use Sparknotes, but this is one class where the readings are worth reading.
Fortunate enough to have him as a Frosh; took him twice my Senior year. Has impacted me profoundly. As I teach my classes, I think back to his socratic way of teaching. A must for every Bell.Amutan'93
Hands down, greatest teacher I've ever had. As stated before numerous times, he has AMAZING lectures. + When he goes off on a tangent saying "the intereseting thing is..," it actually IS interesting
Very knowledgeable, very passionate, and quite entertaining. Great teacher. However, his grading system(and class in general) is unorthodox, get used to it.
T.A. is, perhaps more than anyone else, that teacher that you "must take" before you graduate, for what it's worth. A ceaselessly interesting teacher/man. Just don't f with him.
His lectures are excellent, and he actually makes you think. Take his class if possible - you won't regret it.
THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD IN MY FOUR YEARS, THE FIGHTS WITH YOUR DVD PLAYER ARE UNFORGETABLE, GODSPEED!
TA is the bellarmine experience. he's the greatest teacher I have ever had. J. Roosevelt'91
As a past member of the "phallic forum", he served as my inspiration for becoming a teacher. Class of 88'
The best teacher at Bellarmine. Possibly the best teacher I've ever had. Unbelievable.
His class isn't always easy, but I've never had a better teacher in my life. This man is incredible in class, theater, life, etc.
Incredible teacher. Believe the hype. Take a class with him if you can.
Best at the Bell. Everyone knows that. -- JVB ('87) Thanks Tom.
His Socratic method of teaching has inspired me to pursue education for a lifetime. Always keeping you on your toes. Always questioning your "intellect."
one of my favorite teachers, I love Faulkner because of him
