Was a very helpful teacher. He explains topics very well. But at the same time he lets you teach yourself by giving the tools for you to succeed but to learn to use them yourself

Mr. Shakely has his own way of doing things that works very well. He has a concept where you think for yourself and he points you in the right direction and tells you when you get there. As a 2XL guy I can say that I hated poetry, but it grew on me in his class. He grades really tough on essays, but I'm a much better writer now that I've taken his class. His class is very hard but well worth the effort.

I have to say, the class seemed unproductive. However, in his class, he doesn't teach you, you teach yourself by pushing yourself, which is a good thing i have to say. "Think for yourself." He pushes you to not try to rely on the teacher, but yourself. Very knowledgeable too in fact, seems to know everything that is happening in the world. Taught me to be a better writer. Take his class, it may seem difficult but you wont regret it in the long run.

Truly a man of experience in the classroom and on the court, Mr. Shakely teaches students to be independent and to "think for themselves." If you want to see a happy Shakely, talk to him outside the classroom, he nicer.
