Mr. Bower is the absolute worst teacher I've ever had. I struggle with math and was excited to try to learn it and get into depth on the subject, but he just expects you to know what we're learning without him teaching it. He makes students of colour feel uncomfortable due to his comments. He doesn't comprehend the idea of personal space. Switch out of his class the moment you get the chance, you won't learn from him
Horrible teacher. Doesn't help you at all and is obsessed with his stupid calculators to actually teach you anything without one. To take his class is to take an hour of hell every week. I do not recommend this teacher at all.
Bower was probably one of the worst teachers I’ve ever had. I had him freshmen year, and math not being one of my strong suits, he made my year really difficult. He would waste all the time he had to teach us in class by telling stupid jokes and obsessing over his calculators instead of actually teaching us. Once on my test I got an answer wrong and instead of showing me how to do it correctly he wrote in red “really?”. I highly recommend switching out of his class. Terrible teacher and person.
Mr. Bower is hilarious and fun and if you're really good at math I think you should stop reading cuz you're gonna love him.
He is calculator-obsessed, impossible to please, skips out grading homework, denies the fact that he never taught you something when he literally never taught you it, and will not answer questions he says are not worth his time. He has favorites and is a harsh grader who picks on certain students for no reason. He's good for some people, I guess, but not me.
Great teacher, super clear and makes a lot of math jokes. He can be difficult to approach and fairly harsh to his students who do not receive As, cares a lot about neatness. He's pretty picky about tests. If you take his class seriously, you'll do great.
MY FAVORITE PERSON OF ALL TIME. Hilarious. Knowledgable. Caring. A-freaking-mazing. I laughed every day. People who don't like him are people that ask dumb questions. Try your best and Mr. Bower will be your favorite person. God I love this teacher.
I had Mr Bower for two years (Geometry and Algebra2/Trig), and he is a really great teacher. Knows how to explain difficult concepts well, and throws in (admittedly bad) puns or jokes at least once or twice a day. Be sure to keep up with him, and always do the homework, or the tests will be very difficult! The calculator stuff can get a little burdensome, and a lot of it has questionable usefulness, but it does help you understand the concepts better sometimes.
Mr. Bower is a great teacher. He taught me alg. trig. and having had him has helped me so much in pre calc. I will admit he wastes time teaching us how to use the new calculator. No professional engineering or math related jobs use a calculator, they use a computer. He treated me nicely so I liked him but others he was kind of harsh with and I wouldn't blame them for hating him.
He was a fun teacher (with all his horrible but helpful little memory tricks) but his tests are really hard.
Yea he's alright, not too strict. but he can be sooo annoying about new technology. Especialy the ti-nspire cx.
learned so much from him! im not very good at math but he made everything so clear and always was willing to help...so hope i get him next year!
Very fun teacher! I loved his class, even if he was a little mean with his jokes. His teaching is fun and easy to understand if you have common sense. Best math teacher I've ever had!
Mr. Bower is a really good teacher. He loves what he's teaching, and is usually pretty good at explaining concepts. He does give a lot of homework, but it's not too bad.
Mr. Bower is totally my type of teacher :) tells jokes and stuff that are kinda cheesy. He does go a tad fast so make sure you ask him if you want something repeated and always do your homework
He does go super fast, but he is funny and enthusiastic, and will help you after class. Just dont fall behind. Uses calculator a lot, so make sure you learn stuff by hand too.
he goes super fast. especially gate. hes fun sometimes but his tests and work is ridiculously hard. dont take if you are a slacker
Mr. Bower was awesome, but i had to transfer out 2nd semester. Some of his tests had trick questions on them, which was bothersome, but he was always entertaining and made sure the class understood.
He's super funny and has ton of lame but hilarious jokes. A little hard to understand his notes sometimes, and make sure you read the book!
I didnt mind the class, he was entertaining enough but the actual math was hard because he would just go over a concept once. Makes you graphing calculator strong = high SAT scores
Cool guy, runner. If you don't like maths you might not like him. I think he's a nice guy, altho he can be a little strict with people that talk too much. Helpful.
In trying to make his class fun and interesting, to me, Mr. Bower ends up being annoying, mainly through annoying jokes and explanations. He also seems to expect enthusiasm for math out of everyone.
He tries to help his students understand, but he doesn't approach things in a clear or easy-to-understand way because he expects you to read the book ahead of time.
He's helpful, but his class is quite difficult. The lessons are straight from the book, though not always clear.
He's so awesome. Nice to everybody, one of my personal favorite teachers. Very good at teaching, and good in the style he does it.
He was very mean to people in my class, and he wasts too much time in class by playing word games
