Everyone gives her so much crap, but she's actually a pretty good teacher who knows what she's talking about, even if her accent isn't the greatest. I have learned so much from her, and most people who say she is a bad teacher are only saying that because she isn't easy. In my experience, if you actually put in the work, the class isn't that hard.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Her inability to speak and teach the Spanish language is astounding to me and it disgusts me that she is the head of a program as such an incompetent teacher. I know many people in my classes who speak better than her but we have all been warned not to correct her many grammar errors or she wikl forever hate us. It's just sad how easily she kills passion for a language that is so useful and that so many students love to learn before having her. Truly sad
I'm pretty sure she had an attitude re-adjustment. She is the only helpful teacher here. She will always make herself available and you can learn a lot if you pay attention.
Very painful class to sit and listen to her. I dropped it halfway thru because it was so awful and finished online. I learned more by myself than her dum dum websites ever taught me.
It sucks being in her class, its hard to learn material, she doesnt reinforce her lessons, she doesnt have a good recovery from summer and breaks, and i think i've forgotten more in her class than learned.
I don't know what these people are all saying, but I think she was a great teacher! I had her for Spanish 2 and although it was quite challenging, I learned a lot. She is a great teacher in general because she explains grammar and things very well and you do a lot of review days before a test. She also puts homework online which is very helpful.
Even though she might have strict policies and a not-so-great accent, she still knows her fair share about the Spanish language. She needs to stop relying on the textbook so heavily though. But, as long as you make sure you try your hardest (and memorize the stuff she wants you to), you will do fine in her class. You still learn the Spanish language just not in a really fun, interactive way that it should be taught. If you want to learn more, you need to ask her questions and she'll help out.
She is by far the worst teacher I have ever had and probably the worst and least likable person I have ever met as well. She falsely accouses people of plagerism and cheating regulary. All of her policies are absolutely ludacris and completely unfair. I generally like Spanish and would like to become fluent one day but ms leskowski keeps everybody from continuing Spanish as she is so intolerable. I am completely lost as to why she became a teacher as she hates kids, and should should be fired.
Incredibly tough class, with over-the-top expectations of students. Impossible to do good.
Ms. Leskowski is the reason I am quitting Spanish next year. This year I have not learned anything! In fact there is a very high chance that I have lost knowledge of the Spanish language in her class. She is very grammar based and assumes that after one lesson the students should have completely memorized all the material. Plus if you do badly on one test to get 75% credit you have to do 2 1/2 hours of makeup work. If you get one question wrong you get 0 credit!
I tried for AP Spanish but was denied because of my clarity in the subject. I am an exchange student from Spain and this grade would've helped my GPA very much. I asked her to be in her class and she declined because she said she didn't want to be corrected. This fact alone shows that her knowledge is very limited on the subject and she needs help teaching and should be fired.
I'm sorry I'm better than you in Spanish but learn something... Btw get a good accent
Only knowledge is from the text book. Gives us quizzes or tests every other day. Theres no point in doing homework unless you get it 100% correct or else you will loose half the points. Very unreasonable and test corrections take way longer than they need to
She is respectful and thats about it. There is no way I could have gotten through her classes without a tutor. She is unreasonable and there is no way you can try arguing with her. She picks favorite quickly and we do many useless activities
She is very difficult to understand and from what I can tell she can sometimes be unhelpful/fair.
Only uses textbook. Students will not be able to speak Spanish after this class because everything is memorization.
It is such an easy class for me but thats just because languages come easily. Worst teacher ever tho. I don't understand why we don't have a native speaker as the teacher? She has no sympathy for students and gives no time for projects
Mrs. Leskowski not only has the worst spanish accent I have ever heard in my life, but she has very limited teaching abilities. She gets frustrated easily and rarely calls on students. I don't think she should be teaching since she is a bad teacher. Overall, one of the worst teachers I've ever seen. Sorry if you read this Virginia.
totally demotivating teacher...she is really unclear about what her job is as it relates to students. She needs to be in research, not in teaching!!
I think the fact that more students drop out of her class than any other at the school speaks for itself.
Not only does she not care how students do, she believes a "C" is a good grade in her class. She needs a reality check and needs to learn how to motivate students to succeed. It's a shame she gets to keep her job at a school like Piedmont High where academic achievements are so high. Hopefully they will find a way to fire her.
The school system needs to wise up. There's a lot of awesome teachers, but because they've only taught there for a little while, they are at risk of losing their job. Meanwhile, just because she's been around forever, this awful teacher gets tenure.
too much of a jump from easy spanish 2 teacher to picky spanish 3. Teaching style meant for only smart students.
Difficult class but she tries hard and is there for you when you need help. I think she likes me because I try hard which is nice to know.
It's clear who gets an A in her class - the 5 people she decides to like..
yo soy eppi, she is the best teacher ever!!!!! dont hate on what me and leskowski have...its special
I THINK THE ONLY REASON SHE LIKES ME IS BECAUSE I'M A FRESHMAN AND I'M IN SPANISH 3
Who cares if its "por" instead of "para." Ive talked to tons of latinos, and no one gives a carajo. We need more low pressure situations to speak and interact with other students. Just not interesting
Her accent is subpar but she is actually a nice person, and the games aren't bad because she always gives prizes, not the most exciting class but not dreadful either
i hated ap spanish simply because i had leskowski...i have picked it up again at wesleyan and am loving it
