When I was in high school, I was not happy about getting Virginia Teeples as my English teacher. I am 31 now and I will say that she's the only teacher I remember. I studied English at Oxford and I attribute so much to this woman. Highly recommended.
She lacks literary creativity, and she forces a her students to adopt a vapid writing style. Once you figure out her "style" getting an A is easy. Here's the key kids, simple sentences only. Do not use dependent clauses. Write like a 3rd grader. I immediately ignored all she "taught" me, and now write professionally. Also, she once shamed me in front of the entire class for wearing a tank top, although a thinner girl wore the same shirt the day before I did. She is the worst.
Mrs. Teeples made me a writer and taught me how to read a book critically. She was the best, hardest, and most inspiring teacher I had in high school. Fifteen years later, I've written three books as a university professor, and I thank her in the acknowledgements of each one.
She was the most inspirational teacher I have ever had. She teaches so well and is a remarkable woman. I enjoyed her class so much. It teaches hard work and dedication
Probably the hardest English class I've ever taken, but I have never learned as much in a class as I learned in Ms. Teeples' class. She is the most inspiring, and internally beautiful woman I've met.
seriously the best teacher i have ever had. Very wierd and strange, calling us cherubs and what not, but later you realize what a great teacher she is. i miss her and want to be in her class again!
She's a hard teacher, no doubt about that. She knows her stuff though and will make our future years easier by making us study hard in her class. We occassionally do have fun moments in her class.
Teeples is a great teacher. However to me personally, it feels like she has to fear me into learning. Learning should really be fun but it isn't with Teeples. However by the end of the year, I'm sure it'll all be worth it. A teacher worth your time.
Shes honestly a really good teacher. She knows what she is doing and that's something worth respecting.
yeah her class is hard and when you walk into that class the first day you consider dropping. but she teaches you a lot and i have great respect for her. very nice and profound person.
She's hard, no doubt. But when you complete her class, you will be ready for challenges that lie ahead. You will also be endowed with the feeling of great accomplisment. Good Luck
Her class is the most grueling you will perhaps ever endure, and her policies are odd. Getting past that, she really inspires us to find the best in oursleves and utilize it.
Most amazing woman. Really prepared me for college. You may not appreciate her now, but you will!
Mrs Teeples' class was my hardest. Her class I both dreaded and wanted to go to. She IS a difficult instructor- BUT you learn a LOT! Yes, she expects a lot, but it is so worth it.
i can see why people do not like her but she knows alot more than some other teachers... she really loves what she does but some people do not appreciate it
I have learned more in this class than any other class in high school. People don't understand that she has had a hard life and she just is trying to teach people her love for lit.
Even with all the rumors this is the only class is corona where you learn
Her grading policies need to be re-examined. She gives alot of work, too, but she is a very passionate teacher and does make some inspiring points inherlectures
most brutal class you will ever have. most work you will ever do. most stress you will ever go through. but youll be a better person forever
Of all my years of school i have never had a teacher that i learned so much from. Not only about English but about life too. She may be hard but it's worth it
Great teacher. Everyone thinks shes mean, but she does it for our own good. She really knows her stuff, you have to appreaciate a woman like her.
Mrs. Teeples was one of the HARDEST teachers I have ever had! She worked us like college students! It is because of her that I am an English Teacher!
Wow! This class is really tough! But Mrs. Teeples has a lot of good experience and gets really in to her teaching. It's a tough class, but a good one.
This woman needs to retire. She uses Mrs. Fullerton's handouts from the Pre-cambrian age, and didn't even bother to put her name on them . . .unhelpful, unclear
she was very clear and is nice for the first week, but then comes the mood swings. one moment she would be talking then the next she would be either crying or yelling.
I have Ms.Teeples right now for my Freshman year and she is definatly my best English teacher I've had.. She makes you work hard and you feel like your actually getting an education!
super hard but she will teach you so much. i have learned the most in her class
Hard Yes!!! The best time you'll ever have doing Hw until Midnight w/ your symposium group for a week straight, priceless
She has taught me more in a year than I have learned in my entire life. Now that it is my senior year, I can see that I have improved in my writing. I can write a paper in a second while it takes those who didn't have her forever! I recommend taking.
Mrs. Teeples is a very hard teacher. But you really do learn alot by being in her class.
Everyone says Ms. Teepels is mean and I didn't think that until she asked me a very personal and cruel question. I've learned alot and shes a good teacher but not a very good person
From this class, I learned to never raise my hand again. Its a work load, but I did learn a lot through the year. symposium = lot of time
I admit that i was fearful of her when i saw her name on my schedule. Yes, the class is extrememly hard, but it is the absolute best class i have ever taken. I have learned so much, and she is such a good person.
the class is arduous, mainly because theres such high expectations. but i can tell teeples has been through a lot and her knowledge from experience shines magnificently. if i were to show a dead man life, i would show him mrs. teeples.
Okay, I was scared to get her but she is really not a hard as people think and I had a great time working hard and studying with the other poor schmucks in my class=).
Soooo hard, soooo great. Listen to no one. Mrs. Teeples is the most incredible teacher in the history of the world. I might be an English teacher, and if I am, I want to be like she is, because she is amazing. Love her.
I can honestly say that even though I'm in college now, I have not since had a class as demanding as Ms Teeple's, nor have I ever learned as much or performed as well since. Take her. You will be so proud of yourself when its over.
Mrs.Teeples is the greatest teacher someone can ever dream of having. Though she is very very difficult, the reward is great. Yes, she assigned 5 papers due in one week, but wouldn't you if you were a teacher? Me neither.
She was a strict, challenging teacher who made us all rise to our best, and accounted for our best being a lot higher than we preconcieved. She's an awesome teacher who taught me a lot.
She's sooo sooo sooo hard. I wouldn't want to go through her class again, but I learned a lot from her!
Extremely difficult, but this class will help you a ton in the future if you survive.
