Ms. Eagan is a character and you need to acknowledge that. She has high expectations and if you don't meet them it can be difficult to move forward. The class is heavily reliant on textbook reading and the workload is heavy, especially with other classes. She does pick favorites, but all teachers do, so I don't that's fair to accuse her of. She does truly want you to succeed on the AP Exam, however, she is not very helpful for scheduling outside of class. She is extra and I love her...sometimes.

SHE IS HORRIBLE. She is probably the meanest woman I have ever met in my life, gratuitously berating students for just about anything. And thats coming from someone who she likes. I do well in her class and the work load is manageable as long as you keep up with it but just as a person she is hideous. Do whatever you can to avoid having her. Ruined my semester.

Easily the best teacher/class I've taken at wwhs. Anyone who claims she is unfair, close minded, picks favs ... Etc, you either don't do your homework or are a jerk. She has never not been nice to anyone who actually attempts to think historically

Wendy was a fantastic teacher. Whilst perhaps not the strictest, her involvement was always helpful as constructive. She related well with many of us, bringing us in as friends over her pupils. Per

One of the worst teachers at Whitman, in my opinion. She constantly rants about how uncivilized Western society is and how the East is far superior in social aspects. Close minded and biased.

I was scared to have her but even though she has high expectations she makes it clear what you have to do to earn an A. I agree with comment about her not really being openminded but who cares, just smile and agree with her.

Ms. Eagan is one of the smartest teachers at Whitman. She is really helpful and she has a lot of access to resources that other teachers do not have. If you show her respect, she in turn will show you respect. She is hard but you will learn so much from her classes.

Wendy Eagan was the first teacher in all of my school to suggest we look at historical fiction, particularly movies, and audiovisual tools, particularly Smithsonian art exhibits to learn about world history. 20 years later I will never forget her classes. She was an innovator then, and from what I understand, still an innovator.

she's smart, but at the same time incredibly stubborn in always being right. she wont consider other points of view. also a favorist, which can be difficult to work with considering how she wont change her opinion. most of class is off-topic discussion, which is OK, but then leaves no time for actual learning, most of the learning will come from the book in the form of lots of HW.

Expectations: too high. She tells us each year she notches up the level of "analysis" to be higher, it's gotten to be life threatening. Contradictory: gives random small assignments and expects them to be turned in perfectly on time and everything, then talks about how in college you have to be independant and whatnot. Aggravating...torturous...if her expectations weren't SO INCREDIBLY HIGH i think she'd be fine.

I was a history major in college, and I still consider Wendy Eagan to be the best history teacher I've ever had. There is no doubt that she is difficult, but she makes learning fun. She also exhibits a genuine and sincere concern for her students that many teachers don't display. Keep up the great work!
