SHE IS HORRIBLE. She is probably the meanest woman I have ever met in my life, gratuitously berating students for just about anything. And thats coming from someone who she likes. I do well in her class and the work load is manageable as long as you keep up with it but just as a person she is hideous. Do whatever you can to avoid having her. Ruined my semester.
Easily the best teacher/class I've taken at wwhs. Anyone who claims she is unfair, close minded, picks favs ... Etc, you either don't do your homework or are a jerk. She has never not been nice to anyone who actually attempts to think historically
Wendy was a fantastic teacher. Whilst perhaps not the strictest, her involvement was always helpful as constructive. She related well with many of us, bringing us in as friends over her pupils. Per
Once she doesn't like you, you have no chance of doing well in her class. She gives way too much work compares to the other teachers and picks favorites.
One of the worst teachers at Whitman, in my opinion. She constantly rants about how uncivilized Western society is and how the East is far superior in social aspects. Close minded and biased.
yeah i agree she is closed minded or whatever. but she is a good teacher. although she has way too much crap in her room and really needs to chill out about the promethian board.overall id say shes ok
It seems obvious that everyone who didn't like her didn't do well; get out of AP classes if you can't handle the work, kids.
A great teacher. I had her for AP World and I was so prepared for the exam. She is definitely closeminded but still knows what she is talking about.
I was scared to have her but even though she has high expectations she makes it clear what you have to do to earn an A. I agree with comment about her not really being openminded but who cares, just smile and agree with her.
Ms. Eagan is one of the smartest teachers at Whitman. She is really helpful and she has a lot of access to resources that other teachers do not have. If you show her respect, she in turn will show you respect. She is hard but you will learn so much from her classes.
Out of class she is such a nice person, but her expectations can be to hard to live up to. She talks about being openminded but she is not herself. and there is way to much work in that class
Wendy Eagan was the first teacher in all of my school to suggest we look at historical fiction, particularly movies, and audiovisual tools, particularly Smithsonian art exhibits to learn about world history. 20 years later I will never forget her classes. She was an innovator then, and from what I understand, still an innovator.
Ms. Eagan, while being one of the most challenging teachers you will face, is a sweetheart and actually cares about hre students. she does give a lot of busy work, but it does pay off in the end! I definately recommend her!
Expectations: too high. She tells us each year she notches up the level of "analysis" to be higher, it's gotten to be life threatening. Contradictory: gives random small assignments and expects them to be turned in perfectly on time and everything, then talks about how in college you have to be independant and whatnot. Aggravating...torturous...if her expectations weren't SO INCREDIBLY HIGH i think she'd be fine.
"Of all my students you are the only one who has to challenge everything"... " Of all my teachers you are the only one who compares her students and expects them to be the same".
I was a history major in college, and I still consider Wendy Eagan to be the best history teacher I've ever had. There is no doubt that she is difficult, but she makes learning fun. She also exhibits a genuine and sincere concern for her students that many teachers don't display. Keep up the great work!
real smart but extremely unreasonable at times (most times)
amazingly nice when you go in to talk to her at lunch. remember to speak up in class, you can get extra credit (or nothing if you dont.
Wow, Ms. Eagan was such a great teacher from back in the day that I had to post this. disregard the whiners, Ms Eagan's art gallery papers ruled.
means well, but won't consider anyone elses point of view. likes to go off on pointless tangents but won't let anyone else speak off topic.
Nice teacher. Good quality, knowledgable, a little strange (like the kindergarten teacher in Billy Madison who put lipstick all over her face), but a good lady!
She knows what she's doing-had a huge number of 4's & 5's on her AP tests last year. Can be disorganized, unclear, but if you dont get something, go at lunch
Refuses to see other points of view, 30 years of being right... Heavily favoritist, as in it can be the difference between an A and a C.
one of my favorites. When i walk into her room i can't help but want to learn. usally i hate history but ms. e is making is my favorite. 4th period! thanks
while I was in the class, it was hard, but looking back, she was one of the best teachers i've had. can really change your outlook on life, esp. in AP World
Best teacher I have ever had. She actually changed my outlook on life. How many times can you say that about a person?
Great teacher, wonderful person. Comes highly recomended.
Eagan is awesome. If you're a guy and she flirts with you......you're set!
She didn't run a very tight ship. The early units sprawled, we ran out of time at the end, and a huge chunk of material didn't get covered. Bit of a flake.
Great person, really cares about the subject and the kids. The material of the class AP world is just REALLY boring. Not her fault. She does well with curriculu
She covers a lot of material in a short space of time. And her tests are hard.
But she's pretty cool once you get to know her. Fun. And, if you're lagging, there's bonus points on her tests and for helping her correct papers and organise after school.
Ms. Eagan is the bomb! Yes, she was eccentric to say the least, but she seemed very human to me. When I moved overseas she called me up to say good-bye.
kewl! One of my favorite teacherz [email protected]!! Hey Wendy!
OMG can she be any more annoying! Help us study, and the book isn't helping!!!
definitely condescending, treats students like babies
she thinks she knows everything but really doesn't. learned from book, not her
She teaches very little, and is condescending, insincere, rude, and simple.
friendly and pretty easy once u figure out the curriculum. get on her good side!
She has issues!! She started crying for no reason in the middle of class!
participate in class! it realllly pays off...she's a good teacher, and funny =o)
An incredibly knowledgeable woman-- gives a lot of work, but that's life
Not terribly fond of the curriculum--but she was great!
She's a good teacher, made Euro hist in college a breeze - and a beauty
relies too much on the book. can't you teach on your own for once?
If you don't like doing big elaborate projects, don't take a class with her.
all she cares about are pictures on your work. she doesn't even read the text.
Mindless busywork and drudgery, pointlessly meticulous, aggrivating.
She knows what she's doing! The busywork serves a purpose, you know.
Friendly. Lots of work, some easy some impossible. Make sure it looks good.
I learned a huge amount in her class. But she can be very hard to deal with.
Good teacher. Needed yardwork done on her house though.
she was all right but she scared me out of taking the AP Euro Exam
