Class of 236. Scared me then and still scares me. He taught me to think more than anything, taught me the value of hard work, taught me that I'm not as smart as I think I am. He taught me.

Dr. Brooks was a crazy old man who more than prepared me for college chemistry. I loved his passion/lunacy for life and chemistry. Never a dull moment in his class and he knew how to convey this oft complex subject matter well.

I had him in 1971. He was tough. I worked hard. Penn was a breeze thanks to him. Went on to Med School and have 31 yrs in practice. I still use his chemical calculations today to make solutions. Have kept in touch with him over the years. He's an original.

Mr. Brooks introduced me to pharmacology in 1999. Since then I have earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an MBA. Every course he teaches will prepare you for college. He's unique and inspiring. If one day my career path brings me to central high school; I would hope to be as entertaining and clear in teaching as he was.

Heard he's retiring AGAIN. Maybe this time for good. Who will take his place teaching hand-picked students and screaming about fellow teachers by name. No one I hope

Mr. Brooks is the best teacher at Central. Covers 85-95% of what is in college and medical school and does an overall great job. I will miss taking all 3 courses and he should be overlooked. -Imran
