Mr. Hynes' class was very demanding, yet rewarding. Being someone who dropped out of AP due to stress factors, it was in hindsight one of the largest mistakes I've ever made. Hynes made the class both fun and challenging. I would recommend his class to anyone considering AP.
Mr. Hynes was my English teacher during junior year for an English class to go with my APUSH class. Mr. Hynes' class is entertaining to be in and participate in. He makes you feel at home in his room, and explains things very throughly. He's a very consistent teacher and does a lot of formatting and methods of assignments similarly. I improved so much as a writer during my year with Mr. Hynes. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, take it.
11 years out of high school, and I still remember what Mr. Hynes taught me in high school. He was very effective at teaching students how to analyze literature and derive meaning from it, and I was well prepared for college writing. His class was challenging, but all these years later, I can only see that as a positive thing.
Did this guy have a beard? I think he had a band of some kind? I remember him (not so much the name) but he was a great English teacher. Never had a problem with him. Most of the teachers at Horseheads had some sort of mental problem or other but he was cool. Recommend him.
By far the best English teacher I've ever had. Very Entertaining. Very willing to help and answer any questions.
Mr. Hynes is always prepared, provides detailed criticism on our essays, and leads engaging discussions. He has a strong presence, vibrant voice, and a good sense of humor. A Model Teacher!
Mr. Hynes is great. I thoroughly enjoyed AP English. He is a great teacher who is there for the students, no matter what. I loved it! Sometimes plays favorites, but overall is a wonderful teacher!
Best teacher I ever had. AP English is the most worthwhile class I've ever taken. Everything I know about writing I learned from him. THE BEST!
